Is this strategy for using the patch OK?

Thanks to TGM and my overplanning husband, we have our schedule mapped out for our stay at WDW. I have the patch for motion sickness but I am concerned about some of the side effects. Based on our schedule, during which we will not be riding rides that I know will cause me problems on consecutive days, will I be able to get the wanted effects from the patch but avoid the side effects by taking the patch off after 1 and a half days (at the most) vs. the 3 day recommendation?

For example: My plan is to put the patch on the night before MGM to have the meds in my system before motion sickness sets in, then remove the patch at the end of our MGM visit because I know the next day will be a DTD day.

DH no longer wears the patch at all due to side effects, ditto with not taking old or new Dramamine. Only after seeing it on mythbusters, did he try it, but he's now a devoted fan of ginger capsules for motion sickness: 1-2 with breakfast on the day of expected ride then another before the ride if it has been 3 hours or more since breakfast dose. No side effects and it works for DH. DH is done for the day after ToT, done for 1/2 a day after Dumbo, but can ride Mission Space, RnR, etc with ginger. Note that we also tried and did not get relief from the wrist band devices. Sorry I don't have specific patch info other than what we do instead.

I have worn the patch on several cruises and at the last couple WDW visits. My side effects from the patch are minimal but I can say that the side effects are only with me when the patch is on (like you said). The medicine that stops the motion sickness works in your body only as long as the patch is on. You can use the patch for 1-3 days. When I go on a 4-day cruise, I wear a patch for the first 3 days and then I wear a patch for 1 day. If I know I'll be on land all day, I'll take the patch off and then I'll reapply or put a new one on when I get back on the boat. I don't remove my patch for our Downtown Disney day because my family goes to Disney quest and I HAVE to ride the pirates of the caribbean ride!
