Is this still park policy?

We tried this strategy on Soarin' on our trip this past January. We waited 15 mins and then (conveniently, in my opinion!) it "went down" right at park closing time! They offered everyone a Soarin' Anytime FP but it was our last day so that was useless to us. :( Hopefully that doesn't happen often... and maybe it really did go down, but it was awfully suspicious!!!

Everyone keeps mentioning FP in this discussion. Unless the FP is for that window time it will be useless. The line that will be used is standby. If you had a 2 PM FP it will not be honored at 10:45 PM. That strategy only works for standby.

That's brilliant. Never thought of this or did this before, but my kids are older now, and this sounds great!

You don't even have to get there at quarter til! You can get in the line at 11:59 pm (as long as that's what the CMs watch says!) you can still ride. I do this every time I close a park! :D

THIS!! We hopped in line to TSMM within 5 min of closing, my DD says 'but mom there's a 90 minute wait :crazy2:". I said "no, that's just what they tell people so you won't head over to get in line" we waited about 15 min. I concur it was S-W-E-E-T.

This is exactly what I thought too. But last summer I got in the TSMM line just a few minutes before park close. Wait time was posted at 90 minutes and I, like you posted, thought that was just a deterrent so I hopped in line. I waited 75 minutes. :(
