Is this something WDW should do for future Room Only & Free Dining discounts?

Great ideas -- or even have a general bounceback in each room where both offers are available to choose from (free dining and also room-only).

We went to a great wolf lodge over the summer and when we checked in, they actually gave us a form of bounceback offer right at check-in. I thought that was a great idea. They had different options to choose from which basically could be a package deal or else just the room and water park deal.

Well I don't see the difference when others keep wondering about Annual Pass rates or various room only discount rates, because like free dining those are also promotions. Now I don't know the exact numbers of guests on room only discounts vs free dining, however I would say it's about 50/50 or close to it. So for those guests who like the room only promotions over free dining it's fair when they ask when will the next set of dates be released. The same way others assume WDW will keep adding for free dining dates and asking when they are released.

I am not saying that anyone should feel bad for asking when something might happen.

I am just saying that when Disney chooses to offer discounts, no matter what type they are, whether through Bounceback or any other method, they do so based on what they believe will generate the most bookings.

With the elimination recently, it seems, with bouncebacks even being offered, they may have found that there is no longer a need to do that since they are releasing more discounts to the general public than they were when offering bouncebacks started several years ago.

I still contend that Disney chooses their promotions based on past results and while you may be right that there is an even # of people at resorts in the fall on room only discounts vs. free dining, the fact that the past few years the bounceback during that time was only for free dining, they felt it was worth it with the bookings they got.

I do understand that it would be nice for guests to have their pick of discounts so that they could always get the one that makes the most sense for them and that by only offering certain types for certain time periods leaves people out.

That's exactly what I meant when I started this thread.

I agree that AP rates should always be available and I wish WDW would offer them like they have offered Free Dining for basically all of 2011, instead of waiting for the next set of AP rates to be released.

I also think that Disney should have the AP discounts out there all the time, seems to me it would generate more sales of AP if people did not have to wait to find out what the AP discount will be. I am sure a lot of people would consider going twice or more times per year with posted discounts for the year upfront when purchaseing AP.
