I have 5 classes this semester. Each of them has at least 1 text book, 1 binder and 1 notebook. Some require different things as well- calculator for stats, litman for resp etc... sooooooooooo

As you walk into my bedroom, you see 5 backpacks lined up in front of the entertainment center thingy. Each backpack is loaded for each class. On Monday I grab 2, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 2, and Thursday 2....In between the classes (I have at least 50 minutes in between) I go out to the car and switch backpacks.

I do this for 1 reason only- because I'm an anal retentive freak. LOL I found that using the same bag, makes me forget stuff that I need. Having all of my Respiratory Care stuff in one bag, means, I will have everything I need for that class. When I sit down to do homework or study, I complete what I need to do and reload it into the correct bag.

I bought the bags at Kmart when they were 70% off, the most I spent was 6.99....to me it makes sense....to my classmates I'm a freak LOL

Actually I think that sounds like a great idea and keeps down the clutter of extra books and stuff lying around. I may use your system when I start nursing school next year.

:thumbsup2

Sounds well thought out and organized to me!

Absolutely smart idea - my daughter's middle school is on a block schedule and she has two backpacks - one for "Day 1" classes and one for "Day 2" classes.

Man, I wish I had thought up something like that when I first started in college! I think it is fabulous!

Great idea! :thumbsup2 Personally, I would never be that organized, but it is a good idea.

You know it's funny- I mentioned it to my friends in the nursing program last year during spring, and they sorta looked at me funny. I think it started when someone asked me why I use different bags....but i did notice this year, a couple of those girls are using more than 1 bag now LOL...My Resp books are HUGE like some of the nursing books- the ones you use for the full 2 years, there is no way I could fit 2 classes in the same bag, let alone carry it LOL...and I'm "too cool" to use a rolling backpack :confused3

I knew i wasnt that much of a freak!

I think it's a very smart idea..... even if a little weird!!!

I think it's great that your so organized.
My DS who is in his second year pre-law at 2 different colleges has 3 backpacks that he separates by days. It works for him!

At first I admit I thought it was a bit excessive, but upon hearing your point of view it is very well organized! I probably would just throw everything in the car and just get what I need from there! (can you tell I'm not that organized! lol)

Good luck in your studies!
