I am flying into MCO on the 15th of April (WDW April 15 thru the 18th) but flying out of Fort Myers at the end of my trip on 4/23. I know I can take the ME on my way in on the 15th but can I take the ME to MCO on my checkout day (4/18) and get my rental car for my drive to Fort Myers?

Yes you can.

When you schedule ME, just give a flight number that corresponds to the time you want to be back at MCO for your rental car.

Yes you can.

When you schedule ME, just give a flight number that corresponds to the time you want to be back at MCO for your rental car.

A little clarification... find a flight that is approximately two hours later than you want to be at the airport... DME drops you off at the airport 2-2.5 hours prior to your sheduled flight... so if you want to be at the airport at 9:00 am to pick up your rental car then find a flight that departs in the 11:00 to 11:30 time range and provide that information to DME...

Or you could just tell ME what time you wanted to go to the airport. They don't really need flight information for that.

As others have notes, you can take DME to MCO regardless of whether you then get on an airplane, into an intercity bus, or into a rental car.

HOWEVER, you should look into starting your one-way car rental at one of the many rental locations on or near WDW property. You would save a lot of time. The airport is in the opposite direction from Ft. Myers.

Unless you have an amazing airport-only car rental rate, the rental price should be similar. It would be worth it to pay more, considering how much time you'll save. Recently, someone here even wrote about getting a much lower rate for National Car Rental at the WDW Dolphin than at the airport.

Ok, so-
I reserved a rental car at MCO for the 18th. $55 for an SUV(?)--it was less expensive than a car and not sure why. Went through Budget with my AAA discount.

I will contact DME and give them the proper info.

Did you check if a Budget Rent-A-Car location on or near Walt Disney World property would provide the same (or lower) rate? You would save a lot of time (and a gallon of gas) if you didn't have go 30 minutes in the wrong direction on DME and then drive back 30 minutes toward WDW on your way to Ft. Myers.

It's likely that either of the following locations would pick you up at your Disney hotel. Give them a call.
