Hiya. Is it possible to have a lovely Wishes wedding with a $12K - $15K maximum budget? We're looking at a week day event for us and 18 guests, with a reception and dessert party. Or am i being totally unrealistic?.... Thanks! xxx

I'd think that would be totally possible.

We are actually having an Escape with 18 guests but with loads of add ons! Probably could have had Wishes but we've used the extra cash for something special!

We are having the WP, two hour reception with meal and hosted bar at St James Hall and Patio and dessert party at UK Lochside with loads of floral extras too! All for approx $14,000.

This probably seems a lot for an Escape but I didn't ever want to feel like we were spending for the sake of and I am getting all I wanted exactly how I wanted it!

We chose this route to limit our Disney budget and we have splurged on upper class return Virgin flights and 21 nights at WL.

My family is also from the Midlands scattered around Stourbridge and Halesowen so not too far from you! :goodvibes

Definitely...our was in your range for 35 people! We had a dessert party the night before, then the ceremony and reception the next day. That of course doesn't include things like our outfits, honeymoon etc. but you are also looking at only 18 people.

Hey! Great to hear from a fellow Midlander! Wow, upper class flights! Sounds amazing! When is your wedding? Hope you don't mind me asking but have you had to book all the reception and dessert party yourself being as you're having an Escape or have Disney done it for you? :)

I'm actually doing it on a weekday for 40 people and keeping it at about $10,000 with DIsney's new $10k minimum for weekday 10am or 12pm ceremonies. We're just putting all our money into the reception instead of having a DP. It's June and too hot to be outdoors in my wedding attire for a DP.

Hiya. Had a look at your pics, your wedding looked beautiful. I'm hoping to save on a few things... my friend is a photographer (we used to work together, i was a photographer too until recently) so hopefully she can do my photography and i'm also hoping to do some of my own floral. Hoping that might save us a few dollars! :)

Wow, sounds great. I'm looking at an October 2011 wedding. Hope the weather will be a bit more bearable. Hope its still warm on the evening. Fingers crossed! :)

It'll definitely be warm in Oct. We were in WDW last Oct and all of FL was having a huge heatwave. 90+ degrees every day that month, when it's normally in the high 70's to low 80's. I live in Miami so I'm used to the warmth but I could never subject my guests to heat like that even if it is night time. Night in June is still muggy and warm.

Oct will be lovely at night, hopefully there's no heatwave like last year.

Sorry to keep asking you millions of questions! We're hoping for the end of October. Will it still be pretty warm? We're all from England and are getting quite bored of cold weather! lol

Definitely will still be warm. Oct is my fave month of the year in WDW. Still warm during the day and perfect at night!

:goodvibesOf course I don't mind you asking!

Our WP has organised our entire day, reception, dessert party, everything! The only thing we have done without her is the welcome party (Raglan Road) and booking the holiday itself!

I couldn't have asked for anything better really - Our wedding is only 45 days!

Another reason we chose Escape is because being from the UK and the way the economy is at the moment it's really hard for people to make the commitment to come to Florida and even if only a couple of people dropped out, then you could end up spending for the sake of esp with $-£ exchange rate :scared1:

I'm not trying to sway your decision but it's just something we considered when booking ours :goodvibes

Our wedding is only 45 sleeps away scary:scared1: and amazingly exciting at the same time:cloud9:

Wow, 45 sleeps to go! Exciting!! Are you gonna do a trip report?
It's great that they arranged everything for you. I heard they could be a bit reluctant to add 'extras', ie: reception/dessert party to an Escape package. How did you get them to do it?
I know what you mean about the exchange rate! It's rubbish at the mo. We're looking at October next year, so fingers crossed it begins to improve. :thumbsup2

I will probably do a TR because I never did a PJ but still found these boards so helpful and would love to help future Disney brides. I know first hand how hard it can be planning from the UK.

I've also heard the 'scary' stories surrounding Escape brides but TBH in my experience Disney have been nothing but helpful and completely accommodating. I guess the current economic situation hasn't bypass Disney either?!

I just told them what we wanted from the outset and away we went and I wouldn't have had it any other way Wishes or Escape :thumbsup2

Great, it all sounds perfect and that it's been relatively stress free for you. You'll have to post some pics when you get back. Good luck with eveything! We're visiting Florida this September and am hoping to have a good look around at all the loctaions etc. We're going to try and arrange a site visit. :)

Yup! We're in that area. We're having a Monday wedding @ 2:30pm. We're having 47guests tho' and no D.P. With only 18guests tho', you should be able to have a D.P. and still stay in that budget.
