Quick question. Is it possible to purchase older resorts directly from Disney? Like is it possible to purchase, say, Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs from Disney? Or is it only possible through resale? What about Boardwalk or Beach Club?

Yes although most guides will not mention it unless you bring it up, even an initial purchase can be from older resorts as long as it is at least the minimum 160 points

Sure you can. But you can often get them for less if you buy resale. A resale will probably take a bit longer to close.

It is possible. Be advised that although a resort such as the Beach Club might be sold out points may become available because of ROFR, deed in lieu or because Disney had to foreclose on a property. I am sure there are other ways that Disney gets the contracts back but can't think of any at the moment. If resale doesn't have what you are looking for then you should talk to your guide about these resorts.
