Is this possible?

Our plan would land at MCO around 1 pm. What time are we like to arrive at Pop Century? And is it possible that we could make the earlier HDDR? I have no idea how long it would take to go between the two resorts. We will have been flying since the night before so I know we wouldn't be awake enough to enjoy the later show.

Last year in May we flew in about 3:00pm Orlando time and we had scheduled dinner and then Fantasmic the first night. We had flown for only 3.5 hours. It was a mistake. The kids and adults were all tired and struggled to make it through the show.

If you are spending that kind of money I would highly recommend doing it on a night where you are well rested. The lesson we learned is to not plan so much the first night. Dinner for us is usually enough as that is how we had done our previous trips. We are typically tired after dinner and ready to go back to the hotel and take it easy and get an early start the next morning.

If you are like a friend of mine who loves to kick of the Disney holiday with HDDR, then given the landing time of your plane, you should make it.

The longest bit will be the transfer from your resort to HDDR. You can make the transfer at DTD, or from MK (or any other park that you may choose).

Will definitely be a good way to get in the Disney mood!

I agree with MrToad. Even though it is an adventure in itself, travelling is very, very tiring. Even Chef Mickey's was a bit "overwhelming" on our first night last year. For our trip this coming August, we have booked something a bit more relaxing and saving the more "fun" meals for later days in our trip.

Anyone have any suggestions about places we could go that first night? We are likely to be very hungry after flying an airline that doesn't serve food. I was thinking the HDDR would keep us awake so we wouldn't just crash into bed but I'm open to any suggestions. It will be me and my mom so no grumpy children to worry about.

I think a nice relaxing first night would be going over to eat at the famous Beaches & Cream for burgers & ice cream then rolling over to walk the Boardwalk. No reservations to worry about making and it's a Disney classic.

Well, depending on how long you are staying and if you didn't want to burn a full day of park hopper tickets you might enjoy taking a bus over to Downtown Disney for your first night. There are quite a few good restaurants over there depending on what kind of food you like. Alternatively, you could go to a nice quiet dinner at Jiko's. We typically take a cab when going there and since you are somewhat near the Animal Kingdom Lodge it shouldn't cost much.

The other alternative would be to unpack and take the bus over to Epcot for a relaxing dinner and then watch Illuminations before heading back to the hotel. I love Epcot at night...it's a very peaceful place especially after the park clears.

Hope this helps...

If it is just you and your Mom I say Go For IT! So you are a little tired. You can sleep when you get home! Enjoy! We LOVE the HDDR! :thumbsup2
