Is this possible? (another timing question, sorry)

Leaving animal kingdom at 3, using the disney bus to take us to our resort (pop century), and then another disney bus to make a 5 PM reservation at T-Rex in downtown disney? Is two hours enough time or no?

It's a Friday afternoon in January.

You should be able to do that, but it leaves you very little time at your resort. If you don't really need to stop at your room though, remember that you can take a bus to any resort to transfer to DTD. Some might work out better by being closer (like you can take the bus to Port Orleans Riverside, then a boat to DTD though I don't know if this is actually any faster). You can just take the first available resort bus though to cut down on time, though there is no guarantee when the next DTD bus will come either.

So, in a word, it's enough time if you do not need to stop in your room. Also, T-REX is a bit of a walk (though not too far) from the DTD bus stops, so factor that in too.

How close is T-Rex to the boat dock from POR?

Transferring at Pop Century is faster than transferring at Port Orleans.

I think they actually run buses from Animal Kingdom straight to DTD now. If not a quicker option would be to take the bus to AK lodge and then to DTD.

No Disney Springs buses from DAK presently.

I agree with another post-Bus to SSR,walk to T-Rex is probably the quickest way-cuts out dealing with DS traffic.

Bus to POR-boat to DS is the "funnest" way however.:)

Thanks for confirmation. It is always hard to keep track on if that bus route is being "tested" or not. I wish they would have just kept it. It made life so much easier with DAK closing at 5.

Closer than the bus stop, but it's not too far either way. T-Rex is located in the middle part of DTD. You just don't want to be running to make that ADR!

I agree with others that as far as fastest, walking from Saratoga Springs might work best. The only real unknown is waiting for the next bus or boat, and that cuts out one of those uncertain periods (but it is a further walk).

Just to avoid the stress I'll make it a 6:30 ADR at Rainforest Cafe instead. I think my kids will enjoy the decor almost as much as t-rex.

Thanks all for your advice. We've never done DTD before (or disney springs, whatever it is called now) so here's to new adventures!

If you really want to avoid the stress, just join the Landry's Select Club. It will give you priority seating at any Landry's restaurant (including T-Rex and Rain Forest Cafe) without an reservation. You'll be able to just show up when you show up and get a table.

Do you mean Rainforest Cafe at DTD or the one at AK? There is one right at the entrance to AK, which would be easier. If you want to go to DTD anyway, and are going to that Rainforest Cafe, then note that it is very close to the bus stops and on the complete opposite side from where you would walk in from Saratoga Springs. Sounds like you were avoiding that anyway, but just wanted to make sure.

Yeah I think we want to go to DTD this trip just to see the area. That would be my reason for not going to the DAK Rainforest Cafe. T-Rex was my first choice, but they only had a 5 PM or a 9:30 PM reservation, nothing in between.

I'm guessing that you tried to book through Disney. You will have more options booking directly through the restaurant.

But, seriously, skip the reservation altogether and join the Select Club.

Never trust the WDW bus system to get you ANYWHERE on time, even if you leave 2 hours ahead of time. Take the bus back to the Pop, if you must, but then just take a cab to your ADR.

This is a great tip -
We got the card years ago and use it often especially at WDW!

One year we went straight from AK to DTD. We took the AKL bus and transferred there to a DTD bus. It didn't take long at all.
