I was at the DS today and bought 5 Meet the Robinsons pins. They were 3 bucks each. I wanted to make sure they are tradable. I looked on pinpics and the pin is number 53921. It's a metal lightup pin. The back says Disneystore c Disney Made in China 2007. TIA

Yup trade away! and have a great time.

While we were staying on-property two weeks ago, 'Louis', a CM at "Daisy's Garden" (Disney gift shop) in the 'Walt Disney Dolphin' resort, refused to trade for a pin with my 14 y.o. daughter because her pin was marked as being from the Disney Store :confused3. It was a good quality, full sized pin! In addition, a different CM at the same store refused to accept in trade two 'A Bugs Life' character pins, even though they were both marked "(copyright) Disney" AND "Pin Trading", because SHE didn't recognize the characters!

The Dolphin and Swan resorts are not operated by The Walt Disney Company, and the employees there are not true Disney Cast Members. I don't know what the pin trading policy is at those resorts, if there even is one, but I doubt the employees there are required to trade pins like CMs are.

Actually, the gift shops are the only Disney operated parts of the Swan & Dolphin, with the employees full Cast Members. That's why it bothered us.

If there is a problem like this, ask to see a manager who has a copy of the Official Pin Trading Rules. Many CMs don't know them, or make up their own rules as they go along.

Last week I was asked (in reference to the steamboat willie pin I was trying to trade) "Is that Disney?" I have now almost convinced myself that she must have been asking whether it had the (c) Disney mark on the back, as the alternative says scary things about the staff Disney are employing now, but Im really not sure that was what they were getting at.

(On the other hand, there was a wonderful cast member at Disneyland who had a great selection of pins, and told me which parks they had come from, and also told me about the new pins being released during our stay.)
