Pixar's Toy Story 3 - June 18th, 2010 (In 3D)

Directed by: Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo). The creators of the beloved "Toy Story" films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of Woody, Buzz and our favorite gang of toy characters in "Toy Story 3." Lee Unkrich (co-director of "Toy Story 2" and "Finding Nemo") directs this highly anticipated film, and Michael Arndt, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of "Little Miss Sunshine," brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities to the proceedings.

That's sort of old news -it's been somewhat known if not highly publized. A few weeks ago, Disney annouced their next 10 upcoming movies, and aside from about 3 of them (the upcoming "Wall-E" movie and 1-2 traditional animated ones) the rest will all be shown in theaters in digital 3-D. The plan for Toy Story 3 is to re-release the original in theaters, followed by the first time ever in theater release of Toy Story 2, followed by Toy Story 3. The releases will be staggered a few months apart.

Among the new movies in the works: "Cars 2" in 2012.

I may be reading it wrong but are you suggesting that Toy Story 2 was never released in theaters? I'm not 100% certain but I could have sworn we saw that movie on the big screen

I'm pretty excited-- saw Meet the Robinsons in 3-D and it was really neat!

Oh, and I do recall seeing Toy Story 2 in theaters too.

Toy story III in 3-D!!!! How cool will that be? Toy story is one of my favorite movies, and can't wait to see Toy Story 3 in June 2010!!!!
