I will be attending a conference coming up -- I have an AP for this year but i did notice that i am given the option to buy discounted tickets. I am wondering if anyone has ever purchased conference ticket and use them at a later date. Here is a quote from the terms of use:

Tickets are for sale ONLY to individuals attending a meeting or convention in Central Florida for their and their companions' use during their stay, or to meeting planners for ultimate use by those individuals or their companions during their stay.

But this next statement make it sounds like i could use them later -

Tickets will be valid for use only for entrance to the applicable Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park(s) of the applicable ticket type. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Tickets, bonus visits and options, if any, must be used within 14 days after the date of first use. First use (or use of a 1-day ticket) must be by December 31, 2018.

The conference is in April so if that is the case why would they allow these tickets to be used up until 12/31/18? Buying tickets for what i need would save me only a little over $100, so i am just not sure if i would run into any problems if me and my family would use them in April of 2018 -- certain before the expiration date.

Any thoughts or experiences with this?

I'm going to say yes you can use it at a later date as long as you don't use it at all during the conference, thus activating your 14 days of use.

Last year, sometime in the spring (I'm thinking March or April), one of the vendors my dad uses (he's a plumber) went to a conference at Disney and bought convention tickets for himself and his teenage son prior to the conference. The son ended up sick the week of the conference and was unable to go. Since this guy knew my dad and our family were Disney people, he just gave him the ticket after the conference, since they wouldn't be going down there again any time soon. It was a 2-day park hopper. Fast forward to June, and I plan an impromptu weekend trip to Disney to celebrate my 30th birthday. Dad gives me the ticket, (and while I did have to make a few phone calls to get it linked to MDE since it wasn't in my name, i.e. had to give the original purchaser's name, email, address, etc.), I was able to use the 2-day hopper for my birthday trip. So even though the span of time between when I used the convention ticket and when you will be will be different, I still honestly think they would work. Obviously, I would ask a cast member to be totally sure, but I think you could.

he just gave him the ticket after the conference
I'm curious how it would work with purchasing conference tickets. There is an option to buy online so I am guessing at that point i would receive the ticket number to link to MDE. In that case i guess i could wait until after the conference to make sure a ticket doesn't get used by my co-worker or myself.
