I booked my first cruise ever for next March. Is it normal to be extremely excited and overjoyed and thrilled all at the same time. I have always wanted to go on a cruise! The wait is going to kill me~

It is very normal.....enjoy the anticipation, it's half the fun!!!

If it's not normal we must be in the same club!!
I booked our first cruise December 2004 and are sailing December 2005 and the wait is unbelievable. I have only 5 months to wait. So for 7 months I have been excited and overjoyed!!
Let me tell you it doesn't get any better.

Enjoy the next few months and most of all your FIRST CRUISE!!

This may sound stupid but much of the fun is in the anticipation & planning, it's a big let down when there is nothing else to sweat over and plan -when all you have left to do is actually cruise. :rotfl:

Have to say it only gets worse the closer your time comes. But you do have loads of time to plan and search around.

Nothing meant callous about this statement, but join the club and get use to it. It is worse when you come back and do not have one to look forward to.

I know what you mean!!!! I booked in April for our first ever cruise in May of 2006!!! I am on these boards daily, I have a countdown clock :hourglass on my desktop computer, geez every once in a while I even think maybe I should start picking up things that I have read are good to have with you, but I know if I start getting the suitcases out now my family might have me committed!!!!!!  I just have this feeling I will be the one jumping up and down saying were here :Pinkbounc were here and my son will be telling me to calm down before I get into trouble!!! As every one says the anticapation is half the fun...........I think!!!!!

:cool1:
We have been on 7 DCL cruises and 8, 9, and 10 are already booked.
I still get just as excited as I did the first time!!! Probably because I KNOW FOR SURE that it is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
Waiting is just part of the experience of cruising. Enjoy it! Start a journal ahead of time and write down the things you do to prepare for your cruise, keep track of what you do on the cruise, then when you return you can put together a scrap book about the trip. That will give you something to do to pass the time until the next cruise! I say that because I'm sure you will want to book another cruise right away. I do this everytime, it does help. I also plan a different project for each month before the cruise. Such as: pirate clothes, pirate: making a door sign, getting disney themed clothes, :earsboy: planning excursions, chatting with other people on this board that are on the same cruise as me. I buy white shirts really reasonable then I use my disney card program on my computer and print off the picture onto transfer paper and iron on to the shirts so we have personalized clothes that nobody else has. These take a little time to do, but will help to pass the time too. I actually had 3 different crew members who remembered me from a previous cruise because of our unusual clothes. So you can have funn with your wait and be getting ready for the cruise too.
Have a magical cruise, :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
