Ok, so I just bought the Pentax AF 360-FGZ flash, and was wondering if a flash bouncer/diffuser is recommended or needed?? I found this one on amazon for $17, but again I don't know if there is another way or if it is even necessary. Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

Don't know which one you found on amazon, but with my flash I use the Gary Fong Lightsphere II Inverted Dome diffuser. I use it probably 95% of the time I use the flash. I like the look with the diffused flash than the direct flash.

Is it necessary? Probably no. Is one recommended? I highly recommend using a diffuser. It may take some time to get use to.

Good flash photography requires practice, skill and technique. Don't expect to shortcut this process with a plastic diffuser.

For everything else, you can make your own diffuser at:

Yeah, so that's what I found too! I decided to go against the plastic one, and then while I was looking through some of the old threads on here, I stumbled across one that had instructions on making your own bounce card/diffuser and made it today while I'm at "work"! :rolleyes1 I think it turned out pretty well; exactly like the instructions said and looks just like it! Here it is:

Thanks for the tips!!!
