Is this inappropriate? UPDATE: What I am going to do...

I plan on writing extensive reviews of food that I will eat at WDW next month but I am also taking a trip to NYC for two nights (including brunch at Tavern on the Green) in the middle of our vacation and we're going to the Old Town area near Celebration on our first night.

My question is, will I be flamed for writing reviews of non-Disney related restaurants in the middle of my Disney reviews?

Should I just post pictures?

Or should I post nothing at all about the non-Disney restaurants?

Thanks everyone for the input!

I'd love to hear about any and all food stops! Of course, we all love pictures, too! I vote to hear about them all.

review it all I would love to hear if tavern on the green is still a premier NYC dining experience. I have not been there in 15 years and didn't appreciate it as much as I would now.

Indeed many folks will enjoy reading those reviews, but yes, it is possible that others won't, and will point out that they're off-topic for this forum. I think the best way to avoid that silliness is to post the Disney-related reviews here in this forum, and include a link to another thread, on the Community Board, with the non-Disney-related reviews.

They're you reviews, you should be free to post whatever you want. I say go for it! :goodvibes

ETA - I wouldn't worry about the few people who might mind if you post them in your report. You can't please everyone.

It's like how some people want to read the reviews in one long thread, and then some get upset that all the restaurant's aren't listed in the thread title. Or people not liking half-eaten pictures of food porn, or using the word yummy to descibe a meal.

I've read some reviews, when people have even reviewed there trip to McDonalds, since they ate there during their trip. I don't mind that it's in there, since it's there review, and I would never make a comment telling them it doesn't belong. I think the people who point out stuff like that are just being rude.

1) No, you won't get flamed.
2) Hearing non-Disney reviews is still good.
3) Especially for Tavern-on-the-Green (definitely a favorite of ours).

:goodvibes Thanks everyone!

Wow, now I almost feel if I don't do a Tavern on the Green review I may disappoint.

I'm very excited about writing my first reviews.

It always seems strange to me when people eat at McDonald's while at WDW in the first place... :confused3 But I plan to attempt to review most if not all counter service meals we eat as well as the many Food and Wine Festival snacks!

Oh man, like many I'm so excited!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Since this is the "Disney Restaurants" board perhaps you should put the non-Disney reviews on the Community board.

please post them! it's part of a trip that also includes Disney, right? It's not like you're going to Applebee's this Saturday in the town next to you and going to post a review, when your trip doesn't start for another 2 months or something!

:goodvibes Thanks everyone!

I just hope you don't feel disappointed after your meal at Tavern on the Green. We went a few years ago for dinner during Christmas season, and I must say, I'm glad I did it once, but I didn't feel it was worth the money, nor would I ever go back. Hopefully you'll enjoy it and your trip to NYC! I'll be curious to hear someone else's take on Tavern.

I felt the same way. We ate their last January and it was almost Disney-like to me in the sense of it being rather crowded and over-priced for what you get. Oh and they take your picture. That reminded me of Disney World too! lol. I'm still glad we ate their as it was a nice experience to have.

OK, I've decided what I should do to generally please everyone.

I had already planned upon writing a trip report as well. And in that trip report, I would also post each dining review on both my review thread and TR thread, the only difference being on my TR, it'll include everything a TR should include and the dining reviews will JUST be dining reviews.

So when I write my dining reviews- when it comes to Tavern on the Green and the other snacks I may eat while in NYC, I will just post a link to the review from my TR but I'm sure I cannot hold myself back from pictures being posted on both threads... I know how much we all love beautiful food porn.

I understand why it may annoy people when there are non-Disney restaurants review on the Disney Dining Review board but I also know now that there are people here who definitely want to see a TOTG review, so hopefully this will satisfy everyone :thumbsup2 .

I hope that makes sense because it's late and I am a little scatter-brained right now, and thank you everyone for the help!
