Hi.. i received a quote for a full size car from Budget for a 9 day rental for a base rate of $181.47 (only couple dollars more than the mid-size so i figured i'd go for full size) and with all the fees it comes to a total of $236.55. It seemed like the best i could do.... how does this sound... should i book it? Picking up from and bringing back to orlando airport. what do you think? thanks:earsgirl:

Well, it depends on the season. If that is for a super peak time, it's a great rate. For moderate crowd time like fall, it's a pretty good rate. It might go lower at some point, so you need to keep wathing and if it drops, make a new ressie and cancel the old one. But your rate sounds like a better than average price for the length of time and vehicle class.

i am renting mid october.... the economy, compact and midsize was the same price of 179. and the full size was 181, so i figured get the best car for family of 5 (why not, right?)..... they want a $200 credit card deposit when i make the ressie on-line (budget website), so i would assume they would charge me in advance and then refund me the $ if i cancel it....does this sound right?:earsgirl:

Check national. I just booked for (9/25-10/10) a 15 day rental. My total including all taxes for full size is $279.59. It should end up being quite a bit less for you since yours is for 9 days. I used the priceless code and the entertainment coupon. The base rate before any tax and discounts is $125.35 per week and the extra day is $20.89. Intermediate is a few dollars less. Good luck.

I just made a reservation at Budget online and did not have to enter a credit card, so I'm not sure where the $200 deposit is coming from. If you stick with Budget be sure to check mousesavers.com for a Wal-Mart customer code to use. I checked for 9 days in mid-October and it lowered the rate to a total of $215.33.

thanks mareed!!! i rebooked my ressie and got the $215 rate...saved me some $ thanks :sunny:

Be careful with some of these companies. If you want to pick up the cars at the airport not all companies have their cars on site otherwise you get bused to their location, which adds time to getting to your destination. Years ago we used Alamo, never again we had no idea we were going to be bused about 10 to 15 minutes away from airport, you're on a bus with about 50 to 60 other people that have been on a plane they are tired have kids in tow and on the return of the car same thing, it's worth a few dollars to have a car company on site not off site of the airport

Also you think you're getting a good rate but they have not included tax, and other fees.

Beware.....

Try national, they are on site and their rates have gone down,

Good luck

Shelly S, what is the Priceless code for National?

Alamo is now on site and shares space and cars with National.
