Ok - despite all the ADRs you are about to see we are NOT big eaters. BUT last trip we did Disney for a week without ADRs b/c we didn't know about them and actually LOST weight on the trip b/c we couldn't ever find sit down restaurants available - often gave up at night and went to bed out of exhaustion! (Thank goodness I know about disboards now)!
Anyway... what do you guys think about our ADRs for our upcoming trip?
Nov. 28th Boma dinner

Nov. 29th Boma B-fast and Boma Dinner (yes A LOT of Boma - but DH doesn't want to leave the resort for the first two days - just relax at the pool)

Nov. 30th 8:15 Tusker House b-fast

Dec. 1st 4:20 Prime Time Dinner (hope to catch Fantasmic if girls can stay awake)

Dec. 2nd 10:05 Cape May late b-fast (all sleep-in)
5:00 Cat. 1 HDDR

Dec. 3rd 8:05 Crystal Palace
2:15 Plaza Rest
8:20 Kona (we may cancel this one since it is so late but we don't want to miss the 7:00 Spectromagic Parade)

Dec. 4th 1:45 Teppan Edo CPP
7:10 Garden Grill

Dec. 5th (Sea World - no ADRS) (Hoping to eat dinner at DTD - maybe the new Dinosaur rest.?)

Dec. 6th 8:00 Lilo and Stitch b-fast
2:15 CRT Lunch (leaving MK after lunch since that is parade taping day with HUGE crowds)
7:00 Spoodles

Dec. 7th 8:10 Tusker House B-fast
7:15 Boma dinner

Dec. 8th 5:00 Brown Derby

Dec. 9th 1:30 Wonderland Tea Party for DD4
6:35 1900 Park Fare Dinner

Dec. 10th
IOA - No ADRs scheduled

Dec. 11th
CP late lunch 2:45
LTT 7:45 dinner (should we cancel this b/c it will interfere with MVMCP??)

Dec. 12th
Universal - No Adr's

Dec. 13th
Marrakesh CPP lunch 1:45 - should we switch to Biergarten?
Coral Reef dinner 8:00

What do you guys thinks? Too much? Not enough? Should we make ADR's for our off Disney nights (Sea World, IOA, UN) too since those parks close at 6:00?
Anything look awful?

It looks great! Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

is WAYYY too much food IMHO. You'll do nothing but eat those days! So 12/3 and 12/6, I'd cancel the lunches. You just won't be hungry yet.

Actually, we have never been able to do even 2 ts meals per day without feeling sick afterwards. But we may not be typical. That having been said, if we were do do 2, I'd make them breakfast and dinner. We'd need HOURS between meals!

Just my opinion.

pooch - I think you are probably right. There are so many good places to eat I think I may have overdone it on those two days. We don't eat more than one big meal a day at home so I don't know why I thought we could manage it on vacation!

Okay then you should rethink this.

Why are you going to Disney/ Orlando for so long? I think I would rather go to the beach on either the east or west coast for 5 days to a week and then do Disney or the reverse. My thought is that the whole thing is going to be too much . :confused3

We make either breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner. Three meals is too much for us. I noticed that you had a couple of 8Pm dinners. Are your children up to eating so late?

Have fun...just trying to point out some potential concerns

I like your plans. We are not BIG eaters, but we preferred our TS meals over the CS. There were times we went hungry looking for CS space. it was so much nicer to walk right into our ADR. Only one was late and that was because we were 5 minutes late (because we got lost)That was our first day - we landed after getting up at 4:00 am !

The following is just my opinion, for what it's worth :)

You're doing a lot of repeats. I absolutely LOVE Boma, but three dinners in ten days ? There are so many restaurants to try at WDW. Did you look at the menu for Jiko (also at AKL?).

Tusker House breakfast is great but again twice in one trip may be a little much. I would switch for a lunch ADR at Yak & Yeti instead.

I'd drop the lunch at CP. It's too close to your LTT ADR and you won't be hungry enough. I'd go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast instead. And try to get an earlier time for LTT if possible, something before 5. You're paying a lot of $$ for the party, you don't wanna waste 2 hours of it eating.

Maybe you could swich Kona to one of the nights where you'll be at another park. Seaworld closes early in the winter and is seriously lacking as far as food is concerned, so I think you'd enjoy a nice dinner that night.

We are lucky. Both our girls are go with the flow type kids. The youngest is extremely even-keeled - with or without naps. And yes, they have eaten that late before without problem. However, I do think after a day at the park an 8:00 dinner is too much. I believe I only have one of those. So I will cancel my Kona dinner.
My DH feels the same way you do Boardwalk Tigger! He cannot believe I talked him into a 2 week vacation. It started as one week with my parents but his parents wanted to come along too. So we are doing the second week with his parents. At least we won't feel pressured in the parks to see everything since we have so much time. If there is a meltdown we call it a day and head back to the condo. We are staying in a 3 bedroom at Cypress Pointe for 2 weeks for $300 total - as a timeshare (our in-laws'). So the price couldn't be beat for a trip to Disney.
And we did do the beach thing in may, just the two of us in St. Lucia, so this trip is meant to be THE Disney trip for the girls. (We try to do one family trip and one grown-up trip a year). And since we live on the East Coast. We hit the beach here as often as we want.

drakes - That is EXACTLY what happend to us last fall. We often went hungry trying to find a place to sit down and eat and would eventually give up. CS was ok sometimes, but I really like having the break in the action.

I may have overdone stuff a little??? My DH thinks I'm crazy. But the only negative to our last trip was the total lack of ADRs. Does anyone else think this is too much? Now I am starting to rethink my ADRs??!

I think you plan looks good. But if you are not big eaters that I would cancel some of those that you have three TS in one day and just pick up so CS if you need it. I do think you have the Boma scheduled too much...I would really replace that with Mara or Jiko or another TS at a different location.

Dec. 11th
CP late lunch 2:45
LTT 7:45 dinner (should we cancel this b/c it will interfere with MVMCP??)

I think LTT will interfere with your party time. I would cancel LTT anyway you can get CP any later? If not that keep that eat there and pick up a snack later in the night. You could also do a CS breakfast like at the Main Street Bakery that morning to hold you over until 2:45.

Are you doing the Dining Plan? If so I would consider the Deluxe plan with as many TS restaurants you have scheduled. Than you could schedule some dinners or breakfast at other resorts on the days that you are not going to a Disney park

I think they places you picked looked great but to eat 2 buffets in one day is a lot of food.

Ok - just canceled LTT for Dec. 11th (party of 6) 7:05 if anyone wants it!
I can get CP for 3:50 for dinner instead of the 2:45 lunch currently booked.
Pros: Later meal - will definitely hold us over for the evening.
Cons: Still have to use a day ticket as well as MVMCP ticket because it is before 4:00. IT is $8 more per adult eating and only an hour later than original ADR. SHould I do it?

I hope you did the deluxe dining plan!:) If not you will go broke in those 2 weeks with all those sit downs. Don't forget all those TS and all those tips. Either way have a great trip and enjoy your 2 weeks we did 12 days last August and we are only doing 8 this year and I already feel like we are not going to have enough time, wish we had 2 weeks of vacation time left because I would do it too:)

Everything looks great!

There are so many restaurants on International Drive, you should just hit one of those while at SeaWorld / Universal..you will save a bundle too! (Though you might cry after getting the same meal the next day at Disney and having to pay double!!)

Too much food? That depends. Does you medical insurance cover gastric bypass surgery after you return?:rotfl2:

Either way you are going to have to use a ticket to get into the MK. So I would move it later or try to get an adr at one of the monorail resorts around 3:00.

Have dinner at Jiko one of those nights rather than Boma.

Also breakfast at the Mara CS place might be just fine for one of those mornings.

Finally, PP was correct take a good look at the Deluxe DP. The multiple TS per day and the fact that you'll spend a couple days at AKL just lounging means those refillable mugs will work like a charm and you'll likely burn through some snack credits too.

Not sure about the beach comment, but 10 days in Orlando, a couple of them lazing by the AKL pool in December sound really good to me; enjoy.

The one restaurant I don't see is Chef Mickey's, a fantastic character meal experience. Since you're there for a while I'd try to fit it in.

I think you have a great plan!

Read that you cancelled LTT (good choice, I think! It would have interfered with MVMCP!) If you really want to eat at CP, I see no reason why you need to change the 3:50 ADR and no reason you need another tix for the park. You can get into MVMCP on that tix at 4:00. Just be at the gate and ready to enter when they open it up. It's a short walk up to CP and you'll easily make it for your ADR.

If you really like BOMA, I see nothing wrong with eating there your first two days; however, if you'd like an alternative - MARA does have great food offerings! We have eaten dinner there many times.

I'd have to agree with 12/3 & 12/6. Could you move Spoodles over to one of your non-Disney park nights? The boardwalk area has great atmosphere and fun entertainment to watch.

Congratulations on two weeks during the Christmas season! Very :cool2: !!! Would your in-laws adopt me so I can get such a great deal on a timeshare!!

I agree with you - because of being there for so long, you won't feel the need to push! So relax and have a great time!

Thanks everyone!

srdipert - I am going to try and move my ADR to CM if possible. Thanks for the suggestion!

wdwhereicome - I thought Spoodles was pushing it that evening. Perhaps I should try and move it to a non-Disney night so we aren't too tired from doing a half day at MK (with an early morning start). I would rather cancel CRT and stay away from MK that day (because of the parade taping) but that would CRUSH my DD4.

septbaby - If Mara's food is good that would be a great option. We are spending enough on food and a good CS our first night would save a lot.

DISNEY1975 - Suggestions for a good restaurant on International Drive for one of UN/IOA evenings?

B-Ride - Too funny! I'm a small girl but I can chow on vacation! Fortunately I am also a distance runner and I can work it off later. Vacation is off season for me and I will enjoy my food while I can!!

MandM-Mom - I am so glad to hear someone else did a long trip and enjoyed it. My DH is afraid we will tire of it after week 1. No, we aren't doing the DDP (wish we could) because we are only staying on-site two of the nights. After that we are moving to a timeshare. But since we paid so little ($300 for 2 weeks) for our 3-bedroom Cypress Pointe (hope its nice) condo I figure we can splurge elsewhere!

marivaid - Thanks! I am definitely dropping Kona. Decided it is way too late after such a long day. No one will be interested in eating - just sleeping!

I don't think it's overload!

We're doing the deluxe dining plan in January, and plan to try lots of yummy food at lots of yummy places. Because we're on vacation, and we love trying new food!

But... that doesn't mean we actually have to eat everything that's put down in front of us!

If you're feeling full, just don't eat as much! Have a salad and some sorbet for dessert!

It's Disney World! Treat yourself and have fun!! :yay:
