Is this even possible?

I won't be getting married until I am out of school (and have time to save up some money), so I've got a while to figure out the details, but as a girl of course I'm dreaming and planning. My goal is to get married in front of the castle at Disney World. I know that this has to be done early in the morning before the park is open. My problem is that I do not want an early reception. Would it be possible to have the ceremony, a large break for people to go play in the park or whatever they want to do, then have the reception at night? Also, I'd like my reception to somewhat recreate the ballroom scene of Beauty and the Beast, so would it be strange to ask my guests to dress more formal for the reception than they do for the outside/gardenish wedding that morning?

I realize that a Magic Kingdom wedding AND a reception after 2pm will have me paying so much that it will likely be impossible anyway, but at this point I'm just wondering if they will allow it.

(I'm new on here, sorry I haven't caught on to all the acronyms yet ;) )

If you cannot make the wedding in front of the castle work then you could always do a wedding elsewhere (still need to do a DFTW) and then have a magic kingdom shoot and get pictures in front of the castle. IMO it is a little odd for guests to have to get up at the crack of dawn for a wedding and then leave without being fed until later in the evening. Perhaps you could do a breakfast after the wedding if you go with the early option? Crystal palace is nice but I'm not sure if they take reservations for more than 14 people (I know 14 people is the max on the website). Then if you wanted to do a formal dinner you could do that too later on in the evening.

Agree with the above. If people are getting up that early, I'd give them breakfast then do another evening event.

This is really unrelated, but just a FYI in case anybody wants to know in the future: they DO take reservations for more than that! It was one of my choices when I had to make a reservation for breakfast for 24 people. You just have to do it over the phone. :goodvibes

Yeah, I meant Swan Boat Landing. But I think you all are right about it being awkward to wait so long. I think I might just settle for the Pavilion and do the MK photoshoot. That makes the most sense for expense as well. I've just always been that girl with a dream of getting married in front of the castle, but I think I could compromise if I still got my fairytale wedding ;) I know my Prince Charming will be there, so that's the most important part.
