DH is wanting to go to US and IOA at 9 when they open, leave at around 1 p.m. (staying at WH so 1/2 hour drive back), stay at rental house for the afternoon and return to US/IOA around 4 p.m. Does that make sense given they close at 8/9 p.m.? We found last year at DW that the mid-day heat in FL in June is unbearable and we needed that afternoon timeout, but since they close so early will we still be able to see both parks? Plan on going for 3 days. Also, if we leave and come back is the parking permit still good or do you have to pay again?

I think you will have more problems doing IOA than the Studios because of the crowds for WWoHP. Your parking receipt is good for the day so you won't have to pay to park again so that's not an issue. On the day you go to IOA, try to stay as long as possible and try to do as much as possible before leaving. The park crowds tend to thin out in the evenings so that's a good thing. You should be able to do everything in three days.
