We are going on the Disney Cruise which leaves on a Saturday morning. We are getting into the Orlando airport around 3:30 pm on Friday. Would we be crazy to get a ride to Universal and stay until it closes (which is most likely around 7:00 or 7:30) since this will be January. This may be our only chance to ever see the park since we live in Arizona. We have already done all of the Disney parks last year. I am trying to decide if it is worth trying...

If it's your one and only chance and you are definite on that, then why not.

As long as you are not going right on New Year I imagine the crowds won't be too busy but you ought to check the closing time before making your decision.

Are we talking Universal or IOA? If it's IOA, you might want to give the water rides a miss in January - Brrrrrrrrr.

I would say that if your schedule permits - give it a try. Both Universal parks are certainly not worth missing.

I am new at this messaging thing, hopfully I am doing it right. I know I am changing the subject but I noticed you have stayed at the resort. I was looking for any info you might have about the place. We are going there in 13 days!! Again any info. or tips would be great! thanks

I would say yes you are crazy - unless you don't mind dropping $50 for a couple hours at the park.

If you arrive at the airport at 3:30, and assuming your flight isn't late, you won't get to the front gate until probably 5pm. The park either closes at 7 or 8 so that gives you 2 or 3 hours of rushing around, waiting in line, trying pack everything in. I'm sure you would miss alot. Doesn't sound like fun to me.

Go when you can spend a whole day there.

Actually here's a good idea - instead of going in the park ($50) just go to city walk (free) for dinner. You can walk around and see the outside of IOA and US and you could even walk or take the boat to check out the onsite hotels.

Go to the top or bottom of this thread and click New Thread. Better Yet, you would get a lot more answers by posting on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. Again, just click on New Thread and post your question. Good luck, and you'll get the hang of it in no time. ;)
