My family considers itself WDW veterens but has never been to DL. We have always wanted to go but have never made it out to California.

We are now going on a trip to Vegas with my parents where they are renewing their vows. It is killing me to be on the west side of our country without going to DL.

My husband and I have discussed ditching my parents for one day and going just us to DL. We have seen that we could get flights really early in the morning to LAX and returning late at night to Vegas for about 139 pp.

We would land in LAX at about 7:20am and need to be boarding again at LAX at 10:20pm.

Has anyone else done a one day Vegas to DL trip? Is this just totally crazy or what?
How long will it take us to get from LAX to DL gate?
What time would we have to leave DL gate to be able to board at LAX by 10:25pm?
What transportation options are there?

We just really want to see the original and feel like we have been in Walt's true park. I don't know what I will regret more.... getting out west without going or going and having it be so stressed and rushed that I don't enjoy it as much.

A last option is we could fly out early in morning and return really early the next morning but then we would be paying for a vegas and a DL hotel on the same night.

Are there any private flight companies just specializing in vegas to DL transportation?

No, not crazy. :thumbsup2 If I was that close to WDW I'd be trying to work out a way to go there too. Do you have enough time to fly back the next day instead so you would have a full day? Or can you tack on a few days after your Las Vegas trip? Fly home from there instead?

Ha! I'm glad there are others like me. I'm doing the same thing. Parents are flying me, daughter and son in law all in for the week after easter in Palm Springs. I also plan to ditch the parents and take the kids to Disneyland for a day. This means getting up at 5 am to leave at 6 to avoid traffic and hopefully get there at 8. Parents are driving so I will add insult to injury and take the car for the day...lol. Hey they're welcome to come too but they don't want to. It will be crazy busy, no rivers of America no fantasmic, CA a plethora of construction and no world of color yet but I'm itching to see Captain Eo and want to see the electrical parade before it is gone. This also means hounding my daughter for the next month to do the volunteer thing or husband won't let me do it. He is already pouting.

I might be in the minority here, but I think I'd probably rent a car and drive, rather than fly. That way you can leave when you want, and you can drive straight to the park rather than having to arrange transportation to the park once you land. The drive isn't too bad, and honestly, once you account for the extra time you have to be at the airport to clear security, the time you'd save flying would be negligible.

Good luck!

I second the driving idea. I would think it would be cheaper and you would be in control. You wouldn't have to worry about leaving at a certain time and wondering if you will miss your plane. If you think you will be to tired what about a bus?

Can you fly in to John Wayne or Longbeach instead? You will be MUCH closer. With a flight to LAX that arrives at 7:20, you will be hitting LA freeways right at rush hour. It could take HOURS to get there.

I agree with the driving also, if possible. Airports take up so much time. Or driving over and then flying from there straight to home instead of going back to Las Vegas.
