Is this cheesey

What about some cute Disney slippers along with the lotions/soaps. They are reduced to $5.00 right now at the Disney Store. Just got my second pair of Tinks.

You can get a nice black pen that says Walt Disney World on it for $3...or how about an antenna topper for the teacher I think they are like $4 or $5

Sounds cute, But I wouldn'y do it. As said from earlier posts, the shampoo and soap are horrible. We never use them. The packaging is nothing special either.

You should really add something else to it to make it look less 'cheesey'.

We leave Friday and it never crossed my mind to get a teacher a gift. The principal is the one who approved the trip - not the teacher. Plus I never met her. School just started. We have meet the teacher night the night before we go. Is it bad NOT to get a teacher a gift. I always do Christmas and end of the year gift but not thanks for the vacation gift.

Jennifer S, only two or three of my students have brought me back a souvenir when they missed school to go on vacation. It's a nice touch but I don't know any teachers who expect vacation gifts.

Although if anyone is looking for something to bring back for a teacher, one parent gave me a ton of those free Mickey stickers to give to my class. I have to buy my own stickers so this was a really great gift!!!!!

great idea about the stickers!

where do you get them for free?

i know they give them out at the barber shop if you get a haircut. is there anyplace else that gives them out?

thanks!

I've usually gotten the stickers from my resort or the stores in DTD.
A few years ago I was staying at the BC and the cm checking us in found out I was a teacher. She asked how many students I had and told me to come back in half an hour. When I went back to the front desk she had filled a laundry bag with activity books and crayons for each student, and a roll of stickers!!! I was so touched that I started crying and my students were really grateful :D

That is so cool! I wish I could find that CM! I am a speech therapist at a school and most of my kids come from impoverished homes. I haven't even told them that I am going so as not to make them feel bad. I have to be very careful at Christmas time too, some kids don't get any presents over the holidays, and some get very little. You would be amazed at how many times we as teachers step in and do the extras, paying for lunches, buying birthday presents, buying books at the bookfairs, etc. I didn't realize how spoiled my own children were until I started working in a school. I took for granted so many things, like doctor's appointments, being clean, seeing a dentist, making sure my kids had lunch or lunch money, the list is endless.

I think a pen would be a great idea, I go through a ton of them! I would also appreciate the soaps, I may not use them but I would definitely appreciate them. We don't expect gifts, but it always makes us feel special that we were remembered.

I don't have kids, but I always bring back something for co-workers. I like to buy some chocolate covered mickey pretzels or the chocolate covered coconut mickeys, they are only $3-$4 a package. -Stephanie

We buy Mickey/Minnie pens with a pack of post-its for the teachers. They pack easy and aren't outrageous in price. I also had a vote in for "no" for the soap/shampoo idea. Have fun!

I'm a 2nd grade teacher, and I am always surprised and pleased when a child brings me something. I get gifts from children's parents..........sometimes very nice, thoughtful ones, but the gifts I like come from the kids. Give your kids a "teacher fund" and let them pick! My ds chose a set of those crayons molded to look like Mickey characters to bring to his Kindergarten teacher...........he's now in 4th grade and that K teacher still uses those crayons for "specially good" kids to get to use!

I know my trip is a ways off, but DH and I were talking about little gifts to give teachers who work with us on taking the kids out of school. I thought about saving the mickey soaps etc, and making a small gift basket out of them. I would attach a card that said something like, for helping us enjoy out vacation, you deserve to treat yourself Mickey style. Directions: Lock the bathroom door, run a bath, and relax.
Thank you for all your help.

DH is wondering if it would be cheesey because the soaps are "free."

Sounds cheesey to me.:p

Thank You all for your replies and ideas. I think we are going with mickey pens and post it notes. Do the post it notes come shaped like a mickey icon? If they don't, is there something similar that does?

We brought the teachers back Disney rubber stamps. The particular on that I bought was a cube and on ech side their was a different character. The techers loved them and everytime they used them our kids were tickled pink.

The soap is cute but I am with everyone else ... it isn't great quality. Fun to keep though or give to other kiddies.

Actually their are so many items you could buy. Downtown Disney will knock your socks off for ideas (even under $10)!
