Is this board ALL POP?

:thumbsup2 May be a dumb question, but does ASM have a bar I can get a beer at night when I get back from the parks. I see they only have a pool bar, but is that open late at night...say midnight. Almost feel bad asking that question going on a family vacation, but I am on vacation. Thanks

You sound exactly like my DH!!!

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to say::welcome: to the DIS!!

 No shame in that.... I'd be doing the same thing if I wasn't completely wiped and ready to sleep for 17 hours after being at the park all day. I admire your stamina. I don't know if this is your first time to WDW, but you may be surprised at how worn out you are at the end of the day. Enjoy your vacation!!

Yes, it has a pool bar! Got a drink from there last summer. A little pricey, but you are at Disney...
Seems like I remember it being open kinda late.
Hope you have a good time!:)

the people that say that the buses were not a issue were lucky .i stayed at music and being the 2nd stop ihad to stand for almost all my bus rides to the parks it is even worse at movies being the 3rd stop i keep reading of these xtra buse but i never saw it every bus that i got on at various times of the day had the sport people on it and on the wayback we stoped there every time weather anyone got off or not.

My children loved Movies - especially the Toy Story section. I have had good luck with busses at the All Stars. Although, being a teacher I can only go at busy times and the resorts seldom share. Don't know if that made a difference or not.

donnt take pop its way too big and noisy..you will hear every toilet flush at all hours of the day and night,,you will hear every word said in the next room...and you will wait for the elevator every morning ,,,i stayed there twice as a last resort bedaus all stars was book up..pop is 4 floors ..and if you donnt get a preferd room you will walk a mile for a coffee, not kidding ,,take any all star resort you can get,

We had booked ASMo for december, but when we checked in there wasn't a connecting room, so they moved us to music. We had lunch in the food court of movies, and they had this great salad station where you picked whatever you wanted and they mixed it all up in a big bowl with the dressing. It was so good, we walked over there another day for it. All star movies was great too. The food court could get busy in the mornings, but we were there during pop warner week, and it was never horrible waits. The bus service was usually prompt and not too crowded even though it picked up all three resorts. The allstars have wonderful theming, and the pools are great too. Have a great trip.

It's very interesting hearing all this. We are stying on property for the first time in 2 weeks and have chosen the POP. My second choice was Movies.
I have read in Birnbaums book though that Movies is the "preferred" one with Pop being second. I'm not sure where they got there ratings though.
I have read mixed reviews on the food courts. But mostly Pop seems to win out with a better selection. I will find out soon!~

Ok, I'm getting concerned I made the wrong choice. I was asked while making reservation with 40% email if I wanted Pop or All Star Movies. I said it didn't matter so CM booked me for All Star Movies.

Here it appears, the majority loves POP over ASMo? What is the difference. We have never stayed onsite. Will I regret my decision?

I personally prefer the Pop Century - but remember also that the All Star Music has been undergoing renovations (some friends of mine stayed there a couple of months ago in a new room and said it made the Pop look "like a dump").

I still love the Pop, but I'd like to see the Music rooms too (I'm not sure how far they are done with the refurb).

Oh my gosh, tell me there won't be cheerleaders on Dec 18th! LOL:rotfl: Don't get me wrong...they are cute, but they are noisy! With two tween boys....

Surely they will be gone by then!

The cheerleaders I'm thinking of are there around the first week of December, for the Pop Warner thing. They'll be long gone by the 18th. Can't swear that there arne't more, but I haven't read about any that late in the month.

Actually, I prefer All Star Music to Pop Century. I find the buses less crowded. Also, if I bus comes for All Star Movies, I can take it and just walk over to All Star Music.
