My sister and I are coming in for a very short trip in September. (couldn't pass up the 39.00 fare from Southwest!) Anyway, I thought one evening I would like to go to the Poly, order one of those wonderful tropical drinks and sit on the beach to watch the electrical parade. Now, we are not staying at the Poly, so I do not know if this is allowed. If so, what time does the water parade come around? thanks!

It's at 9:00 sharp every night. Have a great time! There is a great bar over by the volcano pool!

I think the only thing not allowed is pool hopping. The Poly is our favorite resort. It is wonderful to sit on the beach and watch the sun go down. There is a drink in a pineapple from O'hanas that sends me straight to Neverland! Isn't Southwest great! I am waiting for the schedules for Feb. to come out. We are going during Mardi Gras holidays.

ok, the pineapple drink sounds like just the thing I am picturing! Thanks for the replies!

WDW has made "arrangements" for this by letting you get a short term parking pass for your car, go to valet ($) or use their transportation. They have always welcomed you to spend money at the resorts, they just don't want you to use their parking lot instead of pay lots if you are not staying at resort.
I find resort hoping very enjoyable during December, decorations and ginger bread houses are on my to do list every year.
Enjoy the drink just be sure to plan for designated driver if you are having more than one and are driving your own car.

wow...that is such a great idea. My BF and I will be arriving fairly late on 9/4 and I needed something relaxing to do that night. We are only at WDW for 3 days total so I need to squeeze as much in as possible. My favorie resort is the Poly and unfortunately our budget doesn't allow for us to stay there this year. He has never stayed on site and I keep raving about the poly and how beautiful and romantic the grounds are and I've told him all about the electrical light parade on the water. I think we might do that on the night we arive! I'm so glad I found this thread....great idea!!!

My grandaughter and I sat on the Poly beach to watch Fireworks. She was too tired for the parade (This past week it was Fireworks at 10PM and the parade was ther about 10:30 because we saw it from the monorail ride back to TTC) We got ther about 30 minutes early found a chair and turned towards the lake/castle. It was beautiful but we couldnt hear any music there.

I remember a few years ago the Poly had the sound track from the fireworks playing on all the outside speakers around the pool, etc. Maybe you were too far out on the beach to hear it?
