I was wondering if having side accounts, or mules, is allowed. I was also wondering if 'nedding' is illegal or is it allowed? Thanks! :)

No reason why Ned should be "illegal" and Mules are "frowned" on, but not against the rules.

Antelope is correct. There are many of us here that have lots of mules. And many of us also used nedding to get lots of credits before they upped the credits on some things.

I have some questions about mules. They are first of all allowed, right? Secondly, how are you supposed to transfer the items and credits from one to the other? Please help. :)

Their really, supposed to be, not allowed. Shhhh!!! :rolleyes1: lol But all the DISers do them. You cannot transfer credits, but you just simply trade the items from your mule to your main. Hope I helped!

Ah, I see... can you get frozen for having them though? *is a little scared now*

do you mean banned? I dont think thestaff have any way of knowing....

I scoured the VMK Home Page regarding mules about a month ago, when another player accused me of being a "cheat" for trading with myself. There is NO mention of creating multiple characters being against the rules, values, and whatever else. Mule away!

What is nedding?

The term "Nedding" comes from crashing boats constantly to get your credits from the Jungle Cruise. Yes, a whopping 20 credits per boat ride, but that was easy credits when credits just were not paying enough for the time and effort.

Nedding is where you go from Ned (double click for 20 credits) to the pirate, to the Yeti to the Dragon to the Fourtune teller all for 20 credits (some throw in a quick game of Jungle cruise for 20 and then hitting the Music game, the only one of the above that you can hit severeal times in a day.

Now good Nedders can get twice the 20 credits everyday by waiting 12 hours inbetween Ned runs.... lol
doing one in the morning and one late at night.

I just wanted to jump in and say that I've done the same thing, and could find nothing about limit on the number of accounts allowed per household. I wouldn't even say its frowned upon, I've never heard of anyone being told that, or being told to stop.

On another similar note though.. Its very clear that you are not to sell a character or items though, which sadly is being done on an auction site. I'm not talking about cards, I'm talking about buyable items on vmk. I'm extremely irritated by this practice and I have and will continue to write to vmk in hopes they will look into and permanently ban players doing this. Its wrong, wrong wrong!

Well, it is not apparent that you are not to sell items. You really have to dig to find this information, i mean REALLY dig. It is only mentioned on the Quest PDF files, nowhere else. It does say not to sell or trade your account. And the quest cards say not only can you not sell them, but you are SPECIFICALLY not allowed to trade the items in VMK - I dont know why they allow trading since the cards state that legally, you cannot trade your items. So basdically, anyone who has ever traded a quest item should be banned as well.

The rules are not consistent, therefore, regardless of what is going on on ebay, there is no LEGAL recourse for VMK to take.

The rules are conistent if you take the time to read the vmk values, and the house rules. There is a link at the bottom of every vmk page to the vmk values which will also take you to the house rules. Very easy to find. If you do want to read them click here
Number 9 of the house rules is pretty clear about bought and sold items and accounts.
I saw what you are talking about on the cards, it says the items cannot be transferred or sold. I don't know what they mean by transferred, if they meant trading in game though, I would think they would have trading turned off for those items. :confused3

My real annoyance is still in people who are taking money for buyable vmk items (things like crowns, snowman magic, costumes, etc..) and characters they are creating in park. I still say its wrong, my opinion will not change on that and yes, the house rules do say it is not allowed. Its hard for me to understand why anyone would defend this kind of activity.

To minimize confusion, the explanation above is not nedding, I think someone else explained it in a previous email (involves Jungle Cruise and crashing). Just wanted to make sure you ignored the above to not get mixed up. Not sure what the official title is for the above, I just call it my "Daily Credit Run"

See, this is what I am saying, it is not consistent. In one area they say dont sell your account, in another, they say dont trade (it isnt specific to quest items) and in another, dont sell you items.

As to why someone would sell buyable items... is snowman magic for sale? no, therefore it is not buyable. I actually dont see anything on ebay that is currently "buyable" - Soo... while not DEFENDING, I can say, why not? If you dont have beta, noone will trade with you, at all. So trading is a bit of a downer for newer players. All I ever see is "got beta?" all over, including this trading board. So, yeah, I can see why people would purchase things.

oh and one last thing on this issue. The person selling, if they read this board could completely fall within VMK rules by stating in the auction that you are paying them for the TIME it took them to acquire the items instead of selling the "item" - hows that for legalese.....

You can twist the words any way you want to, its clearly a violation of vmk house rules to sell items and accounts. I don't care if its buyable, retired, quest, beta or whatever.

Even laying aside this violation of rules though, what about just being right? I suppose most would argue that well, if someone is willing to pay it, then its ok. I guess that is true, but I couldn't take someones money for nothing but a computer image, that I bought with computer money. I'd rather use fair trading in vmk to acquire or get rid of vmk items. But thats just me. I do understand why some people might pay money for these things, but I'm sorry that they feel they have to. Its only pixels on a screen, and its sad to me to see the greed this brings up.

Another likely possibility is that those selling these things are not even players of vmk, but just saw a good way to make a few bucks with no expense to themselves. If thats the case, it will never be stopped and banning won't work. So, after all is said and done, no matter how much it annoys me, I'll learn to ignore it and go on vmk'ing in my own way.
