I'm planning a flight from Louisville, Ky to Orlando March 2004. So far the cheapest average flight is $240. Is this a good rate? Should I wait and see if anything cheaper comes up?

Set up acounts on http://www.travelocity.com and http://www.orbitz.com and they will email you changes in rates if there are changes in fares. You would still be advised to check rates frequently yourself until you get an idea of fares for various times of year. When you get an idea of a decent fair you can buy it through one of these sites or go directly to your favorite airline.
Hope this helps. It has worked many times for me. Good luck!

I've already signed up to advise if the rate goes below $200. I'm afraid to go ahead and purchase what I've found since they are non refundable, but I'm also taking a chance that they will go up. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was the "normal" price and if I could do better.

Doris,
Southwest flies out of your city, sign up for their newsletter. It is right on their site www.southwestair.com They don't normally advertise anywhere but on their site, although sometimes you will get a quote from travelocity or the like, but, they cannot book it for you, so I am told.

I saw this post at work (sneaking a peak between calls :smooth: ) I work at a travel agency call center so I looked up fares for march 12-19th. not sure your dates LOL so just plugged in some, I did see that fare on Delta was around 280.00 at the time and lowest in market was 225, but was sold out. I did find some on another around 240 but dont remember which airline. I just wanted to say that some schools are doing spring break around that time of year and fares tend to be picked up pretty quickly, but everyone else had a good idea and said to subscribe to orbitz and travelocity and they will notify you. Also if you have a travel agent let them know what you are wanting and they can shop around for prices. Travel agents these days do have a booking fee, but sometimes it's worth it if you have a good one to help you out and not have so much of a burden for you :)
