Is this a reasonable touring plan for MK?

Can you tell me if this sounds reasonable? We are newbies. :hippie:

Day 1:
~Be at MK for rope drop
~DS and DH do Swiss Family Treehouse while I get FP for Jungle Cruise
~Meet up at Aloha Isle for a dolewhip. :thumbsup2
~Ride Liberty Belle, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates
~Lunch (CS)
~Ride Jungle Cruise
---rest at hotel---
~Go back to park around 3pm
~Visit Tom Sawyers Island, do Tiki Room and Country Bear Jamboree
~Dinner (CS)

Day 2:
~Be at MK for rope drop
~Go to Tomorrowland, Get FP for Stitch (I know, mixed reviews on him!)
~Ride Buzz Lightyear, TTA, and see Monsters Inc
~Use FP and ride Stitch
~Enter Toontown, Ride barnstormer and do a country house (DS not horribly interested, won't take as long as some would)
~Lunch around 12:30? (CS)
---rest at hotel---
~Dinner later at Chef Mickeys.

Does that sound alright? I am hoping we can do Buzz, TTA, Monsters Inc, Country House, Barnstormer and Stitch before lunch. Is that being too hopeful, or pretty doable? I mean if we get there at 9am for rope drop, surely it won't take 4 hours to do those 6 attractions? If that is too much we can just skip toontown and do it on our last day at MK...we'll be there a 3rd day to just hang out and re-do any favorites.

seems like your missing alot...dumbo, iasw, peter pan, winnie the pooh, splash mountain...are u sure thats all you want to do?

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't waste rope drop on the Swiss Family Tree House. Why not grab fastpasses for Jungle Cruise then head over to Pirates? Getting fastpasses doesn't take that much time.

For Day 2 at MK, what about having one of you go grab FP for Buzz while the other takes DS to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan or Dumbo?

Oh I did leave out IASW on accident. We def want to do that.

I would like to do Pooh and Dumbo, but since on our last day we have NOTHING that we "have" to do, we can do it then. Plus we will be at MNSSHP on our very last night and can possibly do them as well.

Splash Mountain--ds shows no interest, I hope to be pregnant by then which would mean I can't ride, so dh could do it on his own at some point or just not at all.

We're not too interested in peter pan.

I'm with the previous reply -- you have a six year old, right? I'd do Fantasyland first. Your six-year-old should ride Dumbo 'cause it's fun (and you can tell him I ride it and I'm 47), and Peter Pan. Those always have long rides and you'll make the most of being that at rope drop by doing them right away. Then you can do Small World, the carousel, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, etc. You can then head over to get a FP for Jungle Cruise if the line is long, and do Pirates while you wait for that as you can usually walk on -- it loads pretty quickly. Anyway, I'd do Fantasyland first, then do your other stuff. I think you should be able to see MK pretty well in two days. Have a magical first visit!

It's definately doable, you have narrowed down the attractoins quiet a bit, escpially since the ones w/ the waits like BTMRR and SpM and PP aren't on there.

Sometimes Adventureland doesn't open until after the rest of the park. 30 min to an hour. Also Aloha Isle doesn't open till at least 10 or later for the Dole Whip. Swiss family almost never has a line, I would save that for later in the day when other things are swamped. Your FP time will be pretty early to if you get one right away. Id just do it standby if its open.

FP on Stitch is usually not needed, I dont know that I've seen it higher than 15 min wait EVER. Get the FP for Buzzlightyear.

When are you going? TTA isn't currently open and if your trip is in the winter Space Mt may be opened back up.

This is just me, but I'd spend your first MK rope drop going to Fantasyland. If you have not ever been to WDW, I wouldn't rule out too many attractions in advance. We rode Peter Pan over 30 times in one trip because DD10 (who was 2 at the time) loved it so much. Your DS6 might have a favorite ride that is not at all what you expect. I'd do Dumbo, Pooh, Peter Pan, the Tea Cups, IASW, then go to Toontown to do Goofy's Barnstormer and ride the train around to Frontierland.

I totally would not waste rope drop on Swiss Family Tree House and the Liberty Belle. I bet the CM's for those rides would be shocked if someone came running to their attractions at rope drop!

Just my opinion, though - DD6 would be crushed if we didn't spend at least half a day in Fantasyland.

I think you have plenty of time to do these attractions, EXCEPT the Liberty Belle isn't going to be running that early. When we were there in mid-March (busy time), its first run wasn't until 11:00 a.m.

Some suggestions:

You could ride Jungle Cruise first thing rather than getting a Fast Pass for it (and having to backtrack after the Haunted Mansion, etc.). The wait at RD will be as short (if not shorter) than using FP line later.

Stitch Fast Pass machines often aren't even running, so you could switch Buzz and Stitch (get Buzz FP then ride Stitch) -- although I'll bet that at RD, you'll be able to ride both of them with minimal waits. You might ride Buzz first and see if the kids want to do it again (ours did!), so then get a FP for it for a second ride -- or maybe standby will be so short that you can do it a second time right away (that was the case for us on August 4 at 1:00 in the afternoon! -- only a 15 minute standby line).

Whatever you do first on Day 2, I think you want to be at the Toontown RD at 9:45, to do Barnstormer and County House before lines get bad there. (Actually I've never done those attractions, so maybe the lines for those two aren't so bad, like they are for the princesses and the fairies -- perhaps somone else can comment on this).

I see that you are going in Oct.

You can do much more than you have planned.

I also agree that you should start in Fantasyland.

We have done the following rides in Fantasyland in 1 1/2 hrs. (in Oct.and getting there at rope drop)
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Pooh
Snow White
IASW
Carousel
Philharmagic
Tea cups

Don't forget to add Philharmagic to your list== its fantastic!

We went in busy busy Aug and were able to ride barnstormer multiple times in a row. What does that tell you? I would suggest if you adjust Jungle Cruise to later that you do something else first like Peter Pan or Buzz. DS6 will probably want to hit that Buzz multiple times. We road Jungle Cruise late at night and CM were happy to see someone on the attraction. You have also left out Mickey's Philarmagic. Great 3-D show and shouldn't be missed. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip and don't get too overwhelmed.

Glad you asked, and you've gotten lots of advice. I think you are underestimating rope drop! You won't need a fast pass for anything the first hour, if you go straight to Jungle Cruise, you can ride it right then with barely any wait. Same thing for Buzz.

With a little kid, you owe it to yourself and them to start one day in Fantasyland. Trust me, your son will LOVE Peter Pan, and you probably will, too! It's by far one of our favorite rides. Like another poster said, we did just about everything in Fantasyland in 1 1/2 hours arriving at rope drop. Then from there, we headed to Haunted Mansion and had a 10 minute wait for that (this was during busy President's week). From there, you could go through Frontierland on the way to Adventureland, get your Jungle Cruise FP, and while waiting for your time, ride Pirates and maybe Aladdin's Magic Carpets. Walk through the Treehouse, then you're right by Jungle Cruise for your FP, eating lunch somewhere in between (maybe Pecos Bill's, since you'll be in the area?

Then the next day you could start in Tomorrowland, hit up Buzz (no line), Monster's Inc, Stitch, TTA, then head to Toontown to see Mickey and Minnie's Houses, Barnstormer, etc. Head back through Fantasyland and ride Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square again (once is never enough!), then get on the Liberty Belle.

Sorry to be so detailed, but I'd hate to see you wasting that PRECIOUS, PRECIOUS rope drop time that you were willing to get up early to experience! And PLEASE re-think Fantasyland. The rides there are really some of our faves!!!!!!!!

Please add PhilharMagic to the list. There's never much of a wait and you won't regret it.

Check out touringplans.com they have free touring plans that give you the least amount of wait time and running around. I used them as a base for putting together our tour plans.

Have fun!

Ive been there in Oct. We got a fp for Buzz once. Evrything else was basically a walk on but you'll be able to tell once you get there. I wouldn't be surprised if you could do all you have listed in less than a day and a half with out rushing.

I totally agree with what the others have said. I would not leave out Fantasyland on your first visit. My boys are 6 and 9 and they would be very upset if we missed any of the attractions in Fantasyland, Philharmagic and Peter Pan especially.

What about Indy Speedway? IMO, I'd catch that after Fantasyland on the way to Buzz.

Like other posters have said, I wouldn't waste rope drop on the treehouse or a fastpass on Stitch. You'll be able to fit them in later.

I think you should be able to see everything in MK plus ride favorites again in the 2 days that you will be there.

I would not waste a FP on Stitch. I have never seen the line that long. The last couple times we were at MK we went right to Buzz as the park opened and walked on the ride. I think we rode it four times in a row with no wait before the kids finally wanted to move on to something else.

I do hope you listen to the advice given - start in Fantasyland - you may want to walk by Buzz first to get a FP there ride Indy then you are in the back of Fantasyland by the teacups, Pooh's ride - - Please include Philharmagic! and take it all in!!

with a 6yr old - the fun of Disney is Dumbo Ride - its so iconic! Go there first!! As others have said do get a FP for Peter Pan then ride Its a small world - Peter Pan fascinates kids just on how the ride starts as a boat then flies in the air!!

after you are out of PP and IASW you will be near Haunted Mansion - that line no matter how long it looks - it moves quite fast - dont be put off by a line (now the Peter Pan ride line is long and tends to move slow - very slow!)

As a PP stated - do make Toontown rope drop - back there is a haven for a 6yr old!!! Its just so much fun!! I know you cant do it all - and your plans are very laid back - but if you can get to MK at rope drop you will be able to do so much!

I second going over to touringplans.com and getting one of their free plans - or go to the library and check out some of the books!

its been awhile since I had a 6year old - but we do take it all in - and I think you should do a DIS board search and read up on Stitch - do plan on doing it, but I wouldnt do it while all the popular rides have short lines!!

across from Stitch is the Laughing Place - I think your 6year old would love that as well - again, dont be put off by the lines - they move fast in this attraction as well!

Advice: Do not waste fast pass on Jungle cruise. There might not be much of a line. Get a fastpass for splash - you might not be pregnant, and Ds might change his mind. The drop at the end you see is the only scary aprt of Splash - it is a fantastic fun filled ride. The animatronics are great - it is one of our fav. DD did it at 4. DH should ride it alone if need be - he shouldn't miss it.

Consider Crystal Palace for lunch. I find CS lines can be very long and I do not enjoy the food. Reserve now. Winnie the Pooh and friends are there.

Do not bother going to the hotel after lunch. tom Sawyer, Tiki and country Bear will not take longer than 2 hous (max!!) It is not worth going back and forth to the hotel..

Day 2:
~Be at MK for rope drop

Stitch is a really, really bad ride! It physically hurt my shoulders, DH nearly gagged at the smell (stitch belches) ,it gets totally dark for a few seconds and you are trapped in a chair.

Add in PHilharmagic. One of the best 3D mives around.

I would also consider doing Fantasy Land. Teacups and Peter Pan at a minimum.

Does that sound alright? I am hoping we can do Buzz, TTA, Monsters Inc, Country House, Barnstormer and Stitch before lunch. Is that being too hopeful, or pretty doable? Here's a tentative rope drop touring plan that I have for MK:

Fantasyland:
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
Snow White
Teacups
Toontown:
Fairies meet and greet
Goofy's Barnstormer
Mickey and Minnie's houses
Lunch
Head back to Fantasyland:
Carousel
Philharmagic
It's A Small World
Break

We will do a second rope drop day where we will head to Buzz first, hit the favorite Fantasyland attractions next, then do the rest of Tomorrowland, head over to Adventureland, and Frontierland. DD6 loves Fantasyland, but has little interest in Frontierland or Adventureland so we spend little time there. When we go next, she'll be almost 7 and I'm hoping she'll be a bit more adventurous and want to try out Splash Mountain and BTMRR. If that's the case, I'll have to revisit our touring plan.

Thank you all!

Very good point about not wasting rope drop on Treehouse. That is one of ds and dh's biggest MUST DO things. I, however, do not see the attraction of walking up a zillion stairs. lol And Liberty Belle may not even be open in the a.m. Okay.

I will not waste a FP on stitch. I will plan on getting one for Buzz instead.

Question:
So Toontown doesn't open until 9:45? If we are at basic rope drop at 9, would we have time to go do Stitch, grab a Buzz FP and make it to toontown for the rope drop?

Thanks for everything (and yes, I've been reading! I've read some of UG, and I'm borrowing a friend's Passporter, Birnbaums, and WDW for Kids). :)
