Is this a reasonable plane fare?

I used to be able to get roundtrip fares to orlando on jet blue for around $200 sometimes less as it would be $79 each way. Now the cheapest flight on jet blue is $166 one way leaving from jfk to mco . The other airlines are pricing at $129 to $134 . I was getting ready to purchase when I remembered you have to pay for your checked luggage !

Once I added in the luggage fee it was near the $166 jetblue is charging and atleast jetblue has tv and better snacks/free checked luggage for your first bag. I don't know whether to purchase the tickets right now or sit and wait and hope they come down which I've been doing for the past couple of weeks and they aren't coming down.

Should I just suck it up and buy the tickets at the price it is now or should I wait and hope they come down ? Were leaving May 1st and I can't change my vacation dates for a cheaper fare.

Although I fly from somewhere else, I will tell you the May flights have been high for our area as well. They were cheaper for a short amount of time in early Feb and that was it. We were debating on whether or not to do an April or early May trip and the flights at $200 a person through SW at the beginning of April won hands down! Haven't seen prices that trip since 2002 with the post-911 travel deals.

The fares are loopy. The fares on the day before and the day after May 1st are a lot cheaper. The person I'm traveling with cannot change their vacation dates at work so I'm stuck with this high fare. I was hoping jb would roll out a discount of some sort but no luck.

That seems pretty high. We're flying from Long Beach(near LAX) to MCO with a stop at JFK and it's costing us $167 to get there. This is with Jet Blue. Is Southwest an option?

I waited to buy airfare for our next trip to WDW and I'm kicking myself for it. I thought prices would go now, I started looking 11 months out. I was wrong. Not only did the prices continue to climb, but the times and layovers all changed as well. My rule of thumb from now on: know what I'm willing to pay (what I budget for) and if it's that change I will buy it. If you're comfortable with the price, go for it.

JFK is a JetBlue hub and that seems high. Typically around $200 RT is a good deal anymore.

I tried southwest out of LGA and they want $287 ! And the flights aren't nonstop .

All of the different carriers are pricing high for May 1st and I have no clue why because its a Thursday.

I would be comfortable paying $125 but $166 seems too high for such a short flight. I feel like I'm getting ripped off. I'm thinking I'm going to wait it out and see if it drops a little. I'm going to grab our flights coming back home that's $125 each.

I got a flight (non-stop) from newark to orlando for $308 and I was overjoyed.

and I still have to pay for our luggage.

Sounds like you have a good deal.

I think those prices you quoted are fantastic!

We paid about $300 p/p last year to fly round trip from Newark to MCO.

We are going again in December of this year, and of the fares posted, $300 seems to be on the low end.

I would grab those tickets!

I'm seeing on Orbitz $147? Plus another $1.80 from Ebates if you do it that way. Not much but still better.

You're leaving in 1 1/2 months and still haven't purchased airfare? Don't wait any longer; if I were you, I would have bought tickets months ago. The price is not going down.

Agree with this; I would buy now, because it's not going to go down enough to make you feel like you dodged a bullet - not at this late date. If it goes down at all, it will be peanuts and you will have played plane roulette for no real reason.

I'd buy now, if I were you!

Also, the longer you wait, the better the chance that you won't have a very good seat selection.

If you are stuck with one day then you're probably not going to get much better. Try other airports (one of the best things about NY). SW out of Islip had some pretty good deals last I checked.

Hi All.

I booked my airfare for 3 adults & 1 kid back on 2/22 going to Orlando in July on Jetblue. Since then Jetblue has raised the price of the flight from LaGuardia to MCO by $60. It's a morning flight. The price on my return flight is the same.

I really don't think that the prices are going to go down. They usually start at the lowest that Jetblue will go for and then the prices just go up and up.

You should really book your flight now.

I love Jet Blue. We always book the same day flights are released out of Newark. Since Jet Blue will give you credit in your travel bank if the fare goes down, I still check the flight price almost daily. Only rarely has the flight price decreased. The most I have had a flight decrease in price is $22 per ticket. The flight prices usually go up by HUNDREDS!

My most recent flight decreased by $3!

I would book now!! $125 is very good and $166 is tolerable, especially if your dates are locked in.

Hi you guys today I booked our return tickets heading back home. They were $125 each . Not great but not bad eithier. I spent the rest of my money on park tickets. I get paid in two more weeks so ill book our outgoing flights than. I'm hoping it doesn't go up in price. If it does ill shop around and probaly will have to fly another carrier and my kids will be so disappointed. They are used to the tvs and snacks jet blue gives out. They think all airplanes has what jetblue has lol..and to be honest I've never flown another carrier. I think my anxiety will be through the roof if I don't have the tv to distract me . My kids will also be very bored and the three hour flight is going to drag ...

I'm talking myself into flying jetblue ...so fingers crossed the flight doesn't increase in price . If it's $166 ill take it.

I recently booked our flight down from Syracuse to mco, the return flights for us are not posted yet. we paid $165 p.p., two days later it was $233 p.p., today it was $193 p.p.
I watch it all the time because you can get a credit to bank for a future flight if the price goes down but i'm not seeing any great deals this year. I did budget $500 p.p. for flights so anything I save from that is free money, or mickey money cause you just know he will get it......;)

Update...my mom called me this morning and said she's going to pay for our flights! I was ecstatic! I chose the day before because the prices are cheaper and because of that were going to stay in Disney for that night! I have a little extra money now so I'm going to surprise my daughter and do a character meal at 1900 park fare so she can see cinderella and prince charming. I told my mom thank you a million times . I'm so happy things worked out . Our flights are booked and I have extra money for a character meal :) I'm trying to decide between POP and AOA . I love the pool at POP .
