Is this a realistic plan for RSR?

We will be arriving at DL for three days soon and I'm trying to plan my strategy for Carsland. Our kids are 39 and 36" tall, so we're mainly focussing on the kiddie rides, but my DH and I would like to ride RSR at least once. So far my plan is to have Monday at our DCA day. The park opens at 10 that day and we have EE, so my plan was: arrive at the gates at 8:30, go directly to Carsland and then take turns riding the single rider line while the other parent takes the kids first on Luigi's, switching off and doing Mater's . Then at park opening, one of us will line up to get Fastpasses for RSR while the other takes the kids on the rides in Bug's land.

Of course, this is assuming that RSR is up and running for our EE hour!

Does this sound reasonable? Do you think we can both ride the single rider line in that first hour? Has anyone tried this or have different ideas?

You should definitely have time to each go through the single rider line in the EE hour. We usually go first thing into the SR line. And get right back in line after exiting. By the time we exit the second time, we have time for Luigi's or TowMater. By then, it's about time for park opening and the massive crowds come pouring in. That's when we head to Toy Story Mania and usually wait about 20 minutes. Then it's time to find some food!

I think they have a ride swap for people with children too small to ride, but I don't know how it works. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that strategy as it may work better for you. Have a magical trip. :)

I would just add that you should be in the RSR FP line a couple of minutes before actual park opening. I did this, and it only took a few minutes to get thru that line.
