I booked a few things for my 5 year olds actual birthday. We will be going to magic kingdom that day, and it will be me, DH, DD5, and DS 4 months.

Crystal Palace breakfast 9am
Fun day in Magic Kingdom
BB Boutique 4pm
Back to house rental to freshen up ~5pm
1900 Park Fare dinner 6:40pm

Should I adjust any of the times, does this sound realistic? Is dinner too early? What should I expect (wait times, etc.), going in October... TIA

BBB may take longer than an hour but other than that it looks good. IMO dinner isn't too early. All of our dinner ressies are earlier because thats when my kids are used to eating.

I would freshen up before BBB and then kill time in the park before your ADR.

BBB can have waits of up to 1/2 plus it takes about 1/2 or so. Let's say you are out of there by 5:15. I just do not see that as enough time to catch the monorail back to the parking lot, get to your car, get out of WDW to the rental house, freshen up for about 5 minutes before you have to turn around and do it all over again.

Grand Floridian is a lovely hotel to walk through while you are waiting for your ADR. Plus, to kill time, on your way out of the park, stop at Exposition Hall for photos of you princess after BBB (Even if you do not get the Castle package, you get a free photoshoot on your photopass card).

Have fun!!

That would be pushing it for my 6 yr old and way too much for my 3 almost 4 yr old. But,You know your childs tolerance for activity more then anyone else.
I would just be concerned that by dinner my kids would be exhausted. Oh, then it would not be a fun time anyone involved.:sad2:We really needed to take a break around 12-1pm until 3-4pm for us to continue into the evening (mom and dad needed the break too). WDW is very stimulating. Music and activities all around and it can be draining for adults and kids.

My only suggestion is that you may want to try to keep a similar schedule at the world as you do at home. So if you all have full days at home and eat late dinners at home... you should have no problem. You know your kids better then anyone here. :thumbsup2 Have fun!!!

It does sound a little ambitious to me...but you know your kids and yourselves best. Just remember that you are probably going to need to leave your house by 7:30 or so in the morning to get to the CP by 9 (and that is assuming your house is within 15-20min of the MK parking lot) since you have to park, catch the monorail or ferry, get thru the bag check and turnstiles and if it is a 9am rope drop day deal with that too!

Character meals are FUN but they don't lead to much actual eating for me or my kids...the kids are too busy looking around, dancing and playing with the characters, and watching what is happening at everyone elses table. I don't get to eat much because every time I want to go to the buffet another character comes and I would miss the photo opportunity! So I personally wouldn't do two in one day because no one really eats much...but that is me!

The BBB was really busy when we were there and the entire experience did take about 90 minutes...not counting the photoshoot. We didn't get in until 30-40 min after our appointed time. And my daughter kept messing up her nails! LOL! So plan on that and maybe you will get lucky and it won't be busy.

You can count on dinner taking at least an hour too...and the characters there were a hoot...they all stopped, really chatted with us, and were funny! So again, not much eating:)

I would personally plan a midday break in there and maybe split up the character meals into different days if you can. Eat breakfast at the house, go to the park for a while, come home, swim/rest give the baby a good nap and some time out of the stroller, then go to BBB, and dinner.

But this is all coming from someone who just did 3 waaayyy tooo busy days at Disneyland and 3 character meals in 3 days and is a bit on overload...

Thanks for the replies. I have another question. About how long does it take to get to your car from Magic KIngdom? I just found out that it would be better to go to dinner from magic kingdom, after BBB and pics. So would it be wise to leave the park around 1pm and then come back for BBB at 4pm (staying in Windsor Hills) or have breakfast later at like 10:30am and stay at the park until dinner? It's dh I'm worried about, he's the biggest baby of the group.

You make a good point. I think I will just cancel breakfast, and go to dinner after BBB. The Grand Floridian apparantly is very close to magic kingdom. We'll figure out the rest when we get there. Thanks so much for all of your help!

It takes at least 30 minutes from the turnstiles at MK to your car at the TTC. You have to walk to the monorail, wait for the monorail (which could be a few minutes), go over to the TTC, walk to the tram, wait for the tram (which could also be a few minutes), and then out to your car. If you are getting to the park at rope drop, don't do breakfast (eat at the house), leave around 1, go back to the house, freshen up, go back to the MK for BBB and dinner.

However, if I was staying offsite, I would just take the monorail to the GF or the Poly and have a light lunch and walk around the resort. It can be a nice way to wind down a bit. But that's just me. ;)

I'd go back to the house for a nap, leave at 1:30, back at the house at 2 pm, nap from 2-3:00, get up, have a sbig nack, head back to disney, be at DTD 4 pm, park at GF directly after BBB, goof off at GF and monorail until dinner.

I don't think you have enough time to get from the house back to dinner, and your kids will be fried.

I think it is probably a little ambitious for little kids. I learned the hard way the first trip with kids that we needed to eat earlier dinners if possible most of the time. If not, we needed to take an afternoon break. Also, two character meals in one day will be a lot... I would split them up if you can.

I would skip the breakfast(eat at your house) and tour in the morning when lines are short and you can ride the fantasyland rides without lines and do toontown without huge lines. Then head back for an afternoon break (WH is very close) for a couple hours. If your kids get some down time, they will be ready to head back for BBB and dinner at night. 1900 PF is very close on the monorail.

If you didnt want the afternoon break, I would wait to head to the park until later morning (though it will be busier and lines longer then) and just stick around.
