I have never stayed on property with my family before but I went ahead and booked for this August (Aug 16th - Aug 23rd).

Can you tell me if this is a good deal :confused3 as I am trying to justify the prices in my mind.

2 Adults, 3 kids (13, 11, 9)
6 Nights - Grand Florid. garden view
4 Day park passes (no hopping and no water park and more options)
Dining plan for 6 nights (not the delux but the regular meal plan)
trip insurance (booked over the phone and I couldn't opt out of that)
$3763.00

I have added on 1 night at POP because the air fare was cheaper flying out on Sat. vs. Sunday but have not included that night in the above price.

Thanks
Michelle

Ok, first who did you book thru?

Second, have you made ADRs,if not see if you can get any before booking the DDP this late?

Third, why only 4 day pass, it gets much cheaper as you go and you would be able to use it on your POP day.

Fourth did they apply this discount to your room, it weould be the best deal for now.

oh, yeah do you have reservations for the table service meals...cuz that's a busy week there. One of the last possible weeks for summer vacations for a lot of families with school aged children. You may find the choices for table restaurants are very limited. If you can't get table ressies anywhere you want, you might want to cancel the DDP & just eat OOP at counter service.

Agree with the the ? about how many days on the passes...I can understand you may have travel days on the front & back ends, but to add even one day onto the 4 day tickets would only cost like $3.00 more per person (adult 4 day ticket is $212 but 5 day ticket is $215.) Even if you only have a partial day, it'd might be worth $3 per person to have the option of popping into the park for one last look around or whatever.

I booked through disney travel.
My ADR's have been made (had a little trouble getting exactly what I wanted but I had back ups planned).
Only 4 day passes bcuz my dh isn't a park maniac and this is what we agreed on. Also it gets us to each of the parks.
My trip was originally booked for 6nights. I added on the 7th day after the pkg was already booked. We really just plan on hanging around the resort on this travel day anyway swimming and what not.
I was told the pkg deal I got was called "Flex Package" so I don't think that it is the discount you mention above
(and the letters are different DDH (above) and my pkg is something else I believe).

I think its an excellent price. Rack rate for your package is $4668. As others have already said though I would go with the 7 day base for $40 more just in case you want to see a show at night or go to dinner in the parks.

Just wanted to add that you need to edit your previous post and delete the code that you used as its not a general code offered to the public.

Sorry but that deal ended on 7/27 (last Sunday), so she can't use it now ;) I only realized that today myself when I went to the WDW website and the deal was gone

Yep, I also agree with the other DISers about upgrading the tickets - you should reconsider even if your DH is not a park maniac because for an additional $7.46 per adult (ages 10+) and $4.26 per child (3-9) TOTAL, not per day, you'd go from a 4 day ticket to a 7 day and that's just such a great deal it's hard to pass up!

Or look at 6 day only $5.33 more per adult and $3.20 per child difference:

7 Day Ticket Adult (ages 10+) $233.24, Child (3-9) $193.83
6 Day Ticket Adult (ages 10+) $231.11, Child (3-9) $192.77
4 Day Ticket Adult (ages 10+) $225.78, Child (3-9) $189.57

$233.24 Adult 7 day
-225.78 Adult 4 day
$ 7.46 difference

$193.83 Child 7 day
-189.57 Child 4 day
$ 4.26 difference

:dance3:

it doesnt matter if they post that code, noone else can use it as its a flex offer that pops up randomly. You cant call and say you want that code, theyll laugh at you.

You can opt out of the insurance, it is optional. You have 14 days to cancel the insurance from the day you book it also

Just a reminder that we don't allowed the posting of codes that aren't available to the public. Thank you.
