Is this a good time for R&C and Illuminations

I called and reserved for Rose and Crown today for 10/27, the only thing they had was an 8:00 seating. Will this be too late to ask for a outside table. I know that they are not guaranteed, but would love to try.

It might be ok. Keep the PS. If you don't get seated outside you can always walk out to the patio to watch Illuminations. It's still way better than having to stake out a spot along World Showcase and hope for a good location or have to watch over the heads of the crowd.

We've always had good luck sitting outside at R&C. We have had 7:40 and 7:50 seatings, so I can't imagine 8:00 wouldn't work
There are no guarantees, but be very polite and patient when you check in. It could 't hurt
