I'm trying to decide if i should book my air-fare now or wait, we are going Aug 24-Sept 3, when I first started checking prices where $399 but have noticed they have now dropped to $299 return, this si from Minneapolis to Orlando, is this a good price, should i book now or wait:confused3

I just paid $89 each way from Milwaukee to MCO for our October trip. I've never paid $299 for one way, that is high.

we booked roundtrip about 2 weeks ago MSP to MCO Aug 10-20 on Suncountry for under 300 (that includes the $$ for assigned seats) It did drop slightly the next day, but I had been watching it for quite awhile and booked as soon as it dropped. Definately not the cheapest we have ever flown, but with gas prices continuing up, we did not want to risk it. I was not willing to wait and see. With the rumors of 5.00 per gallon gas, we made the move.

I do know we will be driving for Christmas...unless we find some super deal.

The $299 is return like I posted not one way and includes all taxes, thinking maybe I should just book it with the way gas prices keep going up.

It might be a very good choice. Gasoline is only going to go up and jet fuel as well.

That seems reallly really high to me..I think THE MOST we have ever paid is around $250...and that is rare. But with the gas prices...who knows.

Do you mean round trip? Not sure what "return" is.

Just did a quick look on SOuthwest Airlines website, and rates for return leg of your trip are $149-242 for the "wanna Get Away" fares (not including taxes). So if you really are looking at $299 for just the return leg of your trip, that is high. If you are looking at round trip, that is a reasonable fare.

sorry, yes I mean roundtrip. I actually live in Canada but flights are crazy from here in the Summer, I'm talking $850 per person so we actually drive to Minneapolis and fly from there, even though is a 7-8 hour drive for us we can usually all fly from there for what I would pay for 1 of us to fly from Canada, its crazy.

I put your dates in www.farecast.com and that site recommends that you buy now. HOWEVER, I am seeing prices as low as $229 round trip for your dates on AirTran

Delta is coming up as $259 - $299 RT for non-stops & Sun Country is $319

The lower prices on AirTRan include 1 stop and perhaps a longer layover than you would prefer. IMO, it's worth more to go non-stop.

The prices listed include the taxes and required fees, but not any bag fees or fees to get seat assignments ahead of time.

Thanks so much Carolmn for doing that for me, people on the Dis are so amazing, I just booked with Delta for $299 roundtrip, could of got $229 on other airlines but liked that the $299 was non-stop and decent times:goodvibes

Excellent! There really is a value for getting non-stop :)

Hope your trip is magical! :tinker:

Not a bad price at all. I don't typically book flights that far out, but fares this year have been higher and I think that's a decent enough fare to book!

I was online looking and my flight had dropped to $269, phoned Delta and they adjusted my price because I had just booked today so with 5 people going I just saved another $150, $1347 for 5 people with non-stop flights seems pretty good to me. Now I just won't look at the prices anymore:rotfl:
