Im thinking of changing our trip by one day buy the 24 OTUP (Ill have to borrow one point) so ID cancel one day at the end and add one day to the start
we like taking a full week the end of Jan but we only bought a 100 point contract and the stay needs 125
we been lucky so far and had points to bank but starting in 2026 well have to start borrowing which we dont really want to do
so
what is the most practical route to take I could just bank my 32 points into 2026 trip
and see how things are going for the 2027 trip
or and I just had this thought today
of moving my trip from the 21 thru 28 to 20 thru 27
and buying the 24 points which Ill have to borrow anyways but its only 1 point
so would this work and is it even practical to do
or is there some other way besides buying more points
thanks for any advice

If you want to go every year for 125 points, you can borrow for a few years, but eventually you will either have to skip a year or buy more points. Maxing out buying one time use points can stretch it out, but at what point does that no longer make financial sense? 5 years? Not sure what resort you're at, but 25 points doesn't cost that much especially if you can find it resale. Just my thoughts. You need more points or a shorter trip. I say get more points and take a longer trip!:D

Or take a slightly shorter trip

OTU points can only be bought at the 7 month mark so you will have to wait to book that extra day.

So, you book what you can, and then at 7 months, call to buy them, borrow the one, and continue to do that each year…this assumes the rooms is still available.

With the new addition to PVB, we have no idea what impact that is going to have one availability at 7 months, so I would probably just book what you want, borrow, and then at 7 months, see if you can replace a night with some OTU points and then bank the current UY points forward…

It would help you hedge your bets…of course, buying a 25 point add on will also do the trick,

You CAN skip a year. You can still go to Disney, but stay for cash and revisit a favorite moderate or value. Or try offsite. Or cruise or ABD or visit Disneyland. Or when you run out of points you could take a (gasp!) non-Disney trip. I'm not eager to encourage people to add on, because I think forced break every few years to think about your usage and maybe try something different is good. Or, if you are really jonesin' for the DVC trip, you could rent points - which might give you the opportunity to try something seldom available at seven months.
