Is this a good enough reason to grab my camera and RUN?

We are making cookies - me, Ian, Kylie, Emily and Ian's Mom.

They are fighting over measuring cups, hot pads what temp to put the oven at - no one can find anythign even though everythign they need is sitting out on the counters. The counters and floor are now covered in a fine dusting of flour and powdered sugar. My mother in law is eating cookies faster than she is making them - claiming she is only eating the imperfect ones.

Emily keeps putting rap on to get a reaction out of the Grandmother whom is harping on Ian to stop eating while she stuffs yet another large hunk of bread into her mouth as she reminds us once more her pot is void of tea.

Half the lights on our prelit 10 ft tree have burnt out, Em may have a skin staff infection, Ian has a sinus infection. The doc put me on water pills which makes me have to pee every 15 minutes and a tree root has grown into our sewer line once again creating the sewer to back up into our bathroom.

Oh - and Ian just said "Eli (one of our dogs), ya want a cookie?" And to that my mother in law replied, "No."

So right now I am hiding in my bedroom with a cup of "happy" laced coffee seriously wondering how I can escape and the thought of grabbing my camera and running came to my mind.

Anyone else seriously feeling the same way about now?

Wow! That sounds like you are having an AndrewWG Christmas! :lmao: Sorry, but at times, you just have to sit back and laugh about some things. Have another cup of the laced coffee and sit back. :surfweb:

Well, things here were getting a bit crazy, so I took off for the winter wonderland which is our backyard and took some photos today. Sort of trying to exercise my "photographers eye". I am going to post the results in another thread.

I sure hope that things get better down your way real soon and that you can have a Merry Christmas in the end. Be sure to have Emily checked out SOON if you haven't already. That skin staph junk is going around up here too and it is nasty from what I hear.

It's the holiday season! ;)

Close your eyes and let the laced coffee take you to the "Magic Kingdom". :)

I already did. I had her into the doctor the day after she started to show any signs of it. She is on antibiotics and also got a steroid shot incase it was just a reaction to a bad spider bite.

She is doing much better - we just haven't gotten the test results back yet.

And I am laughing - about now it is the only thing I can do. My "happy coffee" helps quite a bit too. ;)

Well, I hope she is doing better real soon.

Keep your spirits up! It will get better!

How many cookies are left?

Jen.....Run like the wind! With today's 40mph gusts you could be miles away in no time!

Awww sorry Jen... you can come on over to my place and hang out... Sachse's just around the corner from Rowlett. Except for my DH locked away in the office playing computer games, It's pretty quiet around here.. just waiting for the Cowboys game to come on - got a batch of fudge chilling in the fridge :thumbsup2

I forgot all about the Cowboys game! And Sachse IS just around the corner. ;)

Ah, the joys of the holiday season. We're on our way to Grandma and Grandpa's right now. We're driving through Kansas and I'm exhausted from spending the last 3 hours friving on snow and ice. We've got a long, tiring drive still ahead. I'm just hoping that I70 is better than 135 has been.

I decided early on that this was going to be the year that nothing stressed me out. Luckily my twins are finally at an age that that's possible. ;) So I've been having a fairly serene Christmas season. (At home anyway; work's another story altogether, LOL.)

Last weekend I was headed out to a friend's holiday party and I remembered I'd left my camera by the computer. I instinctively turned to go get it and then thought better of it. For once, I was just going to kick back and join in the merriment without taking pictures. My friends were SHOCKED! They'd finally gotten used to having their pictures taken (since they generally benefit with a slideshow or little album, etc). It was kind of liberating to not worry about it but then again I did miss having it.

At any rate, I do like the idea of taking it and running, especially to somewhere fun or warm. :wizard: In the meantime, pour some more happy juice in your coffee or eggnog and enjoy the next few days! :santa: :rotfl2:

for some reason when i opened this i was expecting a giant tornado photo:lmao:
