Is this a good enough price for tickets?

Quite frankly, I'm getting a little tires of hunting everywhere for the best bargains for this trip  !

At my AAA (NC), I can get 4 day hoppers for $199 (gate $211.94) and 1 day Universal ticket for $49 (gate price $55, I think). Ticketmania is more than that. Paramount does not list the 4 day hopper and their Universal ticket is $52, and they charge shipping. I think i get the AAA tickets at the office, so no shipping is incurred (have not verified that, though).

Short of having to do something like going to a timeshare presentation, is it worth it to see if I can do any better on those prices? Are there any other places on line that I could check prices?

TIA!

Honestly, I don't know where to get the best deal on tix. (Ticketmania?) HOWEVER, if you're getting tired of hunting, bag the best deal (a hunting term. Get it! ) and be happy in the knowledge you did your best! This is supposed to be fun. The moment it's not, stop. It's not worth the $5.45 you'll save!

BTW, when you're done researching, would ya' mind sharin' the info?! ;) Just Kiddin'. I'm buying AP's. :D

1 day Universal ticket for $49 (gate price $55, I think).

These one day tickets only allow entrance to one of the Universal Parks. You will not be able to park hop between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The parks are walking distance apart. We enjoyed hopping between the two parks on two days. US has lots of specials. You can get a 3 day park hopper for $89 I believe.

Plain 4-day Park Hoppers (NOT Park Hopper Pluses) are only $192/adults, $152/children at www.disneyworld.com (official disney site). That beats the AAA price. I've been searching for 5-day PH passes, and the official Disney online site is the lowest I've found. Hope that helps.

But beware. The Disney web site prices DO NOT include the 6.5% sales tax. Your $192 adult ticket becomes $204.48 with the tax added. Your $152 child ticket becomes $161.88.

GoldenOldie - I haven't checked w/ AAA to see if they charge sales tax. Thanks for reminding me!

bikefan - Disney.com charges shipping right? AAA doesn't, so that may wipe out savings. I ned to go back to the website and check. Thanks!

prncess674 - we won't be going to IOA. My sis went a couple of years ago and did not like it. She doesn't ride coasters (deathly afraid of heights), so she said there was nothing for her to really do. I won't ride the big coasters by myself (need that moral support!). She has never been to Universal, and I know there's plenty there for her to do. Besides, I'm hoping that will be one of our short days since we have no time for a full rest day.

Will let everyone know what I end up with. Thanks!

Here's the irony: I think you'll find that just about everyone who sells Disney tickets will quote you the price with the tax included except Disney themselves. Go figure!

I think you are really selling yourself short by not visiting IOA. There are only two big coasters in IOA (dueling dragons and the Hulk). There is so much more to the park than just that. Seuss Landing is fabulously themed. Jurassic Park is lush and beautiful and Spiderman is the best simulator ride I have ever ridden. Poseiden's Fury is a pretty cool show.

AAA charges FL sales tax on all WDW PH passes.

Locally, we found the best price at TDS. AAA was more than TDS, we did not want to deal w/ordering over the internet or waiting until we got there, so we went to TDS. Prices listed w/tax (as provided by Golden Oldie) are accurate. We just picked up our 4 day PH's today at TDS.

Hi,
Try Omar at maple Leaf visitors info in Kissimmee.
I bought 14 day orlando flextickets for $171 per adult and 5 day park hoppers WITH 4 PLUSSES for $258 dollars per adult, the cheapest I found on the net. For other Brit familiies, it only cost $6 to ship and all prices include tax. Hope this helps others!

I bought 4 day park hopper with one plus option from paramount for 208 for adult and 178 for children they charged 15 for shipping

OK, here's what I ahve come up with:

AAA $199.00, tax included per the website (it says prices include all applicable taxes!), can go to the office a couple miles from work to pick them up

Disney Store @ mall $204.48, tax included

Disney.com $204.48, tax included

Ticketmania $214.00 before taxes (free shipping)

Paramount $209.95 before taxes/shipping

Central Florida Tickets $202.00 before taxes/shipping

Florida Discount Tickets $209.95, tax included (shipping is ???)

So unless I hear toherwise from anyone, looks like AAA wins! I plan on printing out the page showing the "Price includes all applicable taxes" to make sure they don't try to charge sales tax. If they do, TDS would be cheaper, and I'll just go there instead. It's near the AAA office, too!

Thanks for all your input! :jester:

I just ordered tickets from CentralFlorida today and the $202 price does include tax. Our shipping was $7.00

I was really pleased with www.paramountinternationaltravel.com

$300 (adult) 7d PHP pass which includes a free character breakfast. Don't remember what the child pass cost but considering the free breakfast I think they have the best deals I've seen and I've done A LOT of shopping around. They do charge a $15 shipping fee but the more tickets you buy the less that effects the overal costs.

I figured it up like this:

7D PHP Adult =287 (300 for the ticket + 7 shipping per ticket on 2 tickets - $20 which is the cost of a character breakfast)

so thats 7 days + 4 water parks = 11 days

287/11 = ~$26 per day and they never expire. That's not too bad even for a single parent on a limited budget.

Connections has the cheapest 4 day hoppers with one plus.

$198/158

tickemania's prices DO include tax.

I just purchased a 5 day hopper with 4 options for 252.00 with Free Shipping.

Paramount's website did not show a 4 day hopper, and I didn't call them (too lazy!). Don't know why I listed them at 209.95! Taht was for Fl Disc Tickets.

I don't know if or when I will ever get back down (hey, it's been 21 years since my last trip - LOL!), so I don't wan't to buy more days. I don't need the plusses, either. My sis won't do the water slides (w/ my back, I probably need to stay off the slides myself!), and we won't be going to any nightclubs at PI since they closed the country one.

Most of the ones I listed as before taxes, I was not sure if taxes were extra becasue I couldn't get to the total screen on some of them w/o entering CC info or my name address. Didn;t want to do all that just to get the grand total. Sorry if that was misleading!

Even taking all that into acct, seems AAA is still the cheapest.

Not misleading at all. To find out the prices for the places that "cannot advertise" the price, add it to a shopping cart and proceed to checkout, the price will be there.

Ticket Mania's price for a 4 day hopper is 214. tax included, free shipping. I found this without doing anything more than adding it to the cart and then going to "check out" nothing more required.

It would appear that your AAA is the best. My area AAA is showing them at 201.94, but the date on the website is Jan. 03 and says nothing about tax being included. I would, if you have not already, call them and ask. My Clubs' site says change without notice.
