Guess what??!! We STILL havent booked!!! - can you believe it LOL

My friends that are going when we go however have booked and they are off on September 26th to stay at the Grovsner Hotel....we told them all about the building work and my friend Dil isnt happy but James insits that they stay there. :confused3

SO - We have decided that despite sharing our holiday with them we are already going to have to fly on different planes so we may as well stay in a different hotel as well and I still have my heart set onstaying at Port Orleans at Disney -- I dont know why I want to stay there I just do LOL

So anyway we keep leaving it later and later hoping to get a good deal price (my boyfriend has also just quit his job which is another story but he is still insisting that we go to Disney anyway :yay: )

I have found that through virgin we can get

Virgin Flights, car hire, 2 weeks at PO, Disney tickets and 4 park flex tickets for a grand total of £2100 ish. --- is that I good price or do all the experts think we can still go cheeper.

As a nerous flyer I find the whole charter flight thing a bit too scary -- I keep having visions of airplanes held together with selotape! I know its riddiculous -- I want to stay at Disney because I just get put off by conflicting reports about this hotel and that hotel and then thinking that we hae found a nice hotel only to find out about mould and bad service and god knows what else.

We can wait a bit longer too book....we cant do it untill my boyfriend has been paid his overtime money anyway...so if it is worth hanging on a bit longer than we will.

I was just hoping to get some opinions because I am just WAY too insecure about being able to make the right decision -- I suffer from anxiety anyway and spending my boyfriends money makes me worse especially when I know he wants things to be as cheep as possible.

Thank you so much for your reasurance Traci! xxx

I am a bit more certain about that price tonight as I did some looking around and I couldnt beat it and I spoke to Dil tonight and it turns out that their 2 weeks holiday staying at the Grovsner will cost the same as our 2 week holiday staying at Port Orleans :dumbo:

I'd say that's a good price. I don't think you'd get it cheaper than that doing exactly the same thing DIY. Check out what's included in the car hire, though. Virgin Holidays always used to throw in just one week free. You then had to pay for the second week, plus all the insurances. Is the £2100 an all-inclusive price?

Well I stayed at the Grosvenor last year, granted there were more of us, (me and 3 kids) but the holiday cost me £2600, but that was JUST for the flight and hotel. The theme park tickets, car hire etc I had to buy them seperately, so by the time I'd finished it was closer to the £5000 mark
I did love the Grosvenor, but given the choice, I would definately go for PO. I've got a much better price this year with Travel City Direct, we are staying at POP century, I think the whole trip, everything included is £2400, although I have heard some scary stories about the delays with TCD and the age of the planes (didn't know this when I booked) I did price Virgin but they were way too expensive for me at the time, If I had seen a price like the one you have I would have jumped at it!
Good luck with your booking :thumbsup2:

It sounds good to me as well, but I'm new so you don't have to trust me! LOL
Just wanted to say as well that we stayed in Port Orleans in 2004 and had a fantastic time. We stayed quite close to the main building, just over a bridge and up the path a bit. In one of the white buildings. There were 6 in the party and we all had a fantastic time!
I love thinking about my holiday memories... sounds silly! A favourite one was getting caught in a terrible afternoon Florida storm and rushing back to the rooms (well one of the 3 we had, my sisters) and sitting the storm out with a massive bed picnic!
aaaaaaah!

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone :mickey:

I did a bit of research and I cant beat that price yet, even with the budget companies so I'm REALLY pleased at the moment!

It's weird though because that price is ONLY for Riverside and not FQ; normally they are priced at the same rate. I dont mind though because it saves me having to make a decison about which one to stay in LOL

We are thinking of turning down the free car and seeing if we can book one with someone else for less...I know its "free" but you cant take it out of the parking lot without having to pay a whole bunch of stuff totaling more than the £17 a day insurance with Virgin....Does anyone have any reccomendations? My other half REALLY wants to drive

Try usrentacar.com, they are really really cheap and I had a great experience with them last year :thumbsup2:

You could buy an annual car insurance policy and keep the Virgin hire car. We did that last year. We also have the benefit of being able to use the same insurance policy this year (we went in Oct last year, Sept this year).

We got our policy from insurance4carhire.com. It cost £103 including taxes. You will need to pay some state taxes at the airport when you get your "free" Virgin hire car though if you don't take their insurance. I think the taxes came to about $30-$40 for us last year.

Sounds like a good Price to me as well.

IIRC Dollar (the firm used by Virgin) state in their terms and conditions now that they do not accept policies for other insurance companies, a new term from last year.
