Is this a good deal for Swan/Dolphin?

We are looking to stay at the Swan or Dolphin in late November. Right now they are offering stay 5 nights get the 6th free, plus a $100 dining credit. For a standard view Dolphin room that works out to be $157.50 a night before tax and resort fee. Is that about the best I should expect to pay there, or would it be better to wait and see what else they come out with in a month or two? I don't want to loose the good deal they are offering in hopes of saving a few more bucks. I signed up for the Starwood preferred guest thing. They list a special on their website that says up to 35% off for SPG members, but it's not letting me book it for November even though it claims you can book through March 2013. Should I call them and try to book that deal? Maybe it's just glitching out on the website?

That's a pretty good deal. I would go ahead and book it and then change it later if you need to (I'm pretty sure that's allowed).

We stayed at the Dolphin last August and loved it. The resort fee and lack of DME is a little off putting, but if you have your own car, that's not such a big deal.

That is a fantastic deal for S/D, you won't find a lower rate with all those other perks too!

It is a good deal, but it's one of the few promos that isn't fully refundable...the entire stay is paid up front and the penalty for cancellation is the equivalent of one night's stay.

For some reason, the 35% off never worked on-line for me, either, but you can call and get the rate.

The Sunsational rate is a very good deal, but as I mentioned above, you really have to be locked into your dates. If you want flexibility, you're better off with the AAA rate, which is a few $$ more per night, but fully refundable. Or if you qualify for the Teacher rate (guessing, by your Dis name), the price would be comparable - $159/night - but would not include the $100 resort credit.

Either way, I think those are darn good prices for that time of year...certainly much less than any of the other Epcot resorts.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks all! I am an "informal" environmental educator so I don't think I qualify for the teacher rate unfortunately. You are right about the full-pay upfront and one night cancellation fee - that does make me a bit uncomfortable about pulling the trigger. I think our dates are pretty solid though. I will at least call and try for the 35% as I think that works out a little cheaper overall. Even considering the resort fee and parking fee, this hotel is a very good deal for such a walkable location! Last three trips have all been moderates, so I am excited about trying something new for not much more money.
