Is this a good deal? Can I do better?

Two adult travelers attending disney world from 9/28-10/2 with a 4 day park hopper, got the free dining promotion on a king bed room at CSR for about $1600. Our touring habits generally agree with the dining plan tho I do find myself planning the trip around meals a little.. Suspect we will get about 90% value out of it when all is said and done.. is anyone aware of any discounts out there that would be better for us?

Just the free dining is the only thing going on currently. Room only discounts should be coming out soon... beginning of August so I would check to see if that would be a better savings for you when it is released. Sometimes it does work out that way.

The discounts are out for bookings until October 4th so you should certainly run a price check through for a room without dining but my quick search shows only business class King available. Booking through Orbitz with a 15% off code can get you down to $818 for room only. But, after tickets, you are looking at $1400+. So, unless you are going to eat for less than $200, I don't think a discount will get you anywhere near the value of free dining.

Oh! That's right! Room discounts are out through Oct 3rd so your dates fall in that! I would check ASAP!!

During the time you'll be there, a King room at CSR runs about $266 a night. DDP for two adults is about $122 per night.

That's the equivalent of about a 46% room discount.

If you would have booked the DDP anyway, take it and run!!!

Standard view (two queen beds) room would run approx. $20 less per night, but not many of those left for the FD inventory. CSR is our favorite, but the water view and king bed rooms are a small upcharge there.

FD tends to be a better discount than the room % off promotions. I find most of the % off rates only work out better pricewise at deluxe resorts.
