OK, my DH an I are at opposites about this pin trade. Do you think a Wet Paint pin for an Artists Choice Chip and Dale pin is a fair trade? Would you do it?

Which AC Chip and Dale pin?
I would do that trade because I am trying to get that elusive Wet Paint pin and Chip and Dale are not the characters I collect, but I don't know which AC pin we are talking about, there may be more than one. Peggie

Ok, I am talking about Pinpics # 9272, Le 750 Dec 2001 artists choice chip n dale. and sorry, peggie, I already made this trade !I think it was a great trade, certainly fair, and my DH says no way.

Did you get the Wet paint or trade it away?

I had two wet paint pins and traded one away. I collect Chip N Dale pins.

Well, the important thing is that you are happy with the trade.:D

Martha,
then that is all that matters, you are happy with the trade you made.
The way I look at it is, you paid $8.50 for Wet Paint, an LE of 1000. You got a $12.50 pin that is an LE 0f 750. You did good for you and that is what matters.
I have made trades for pins that I wanted that I know were not "fair" for me and I was happy. That is all that matters. Peggie

Gee, guys, your replies aren't a big confidence builder. Sounds like the warm and fuzzy way of saying "you bonehead, how could you trade away WET PAINT!!!" I am happy with the trade, although more concrete proof would be nice.

if your happy, that's all that matters.

Personally, I would not have made that trade.

I agree with Mario, I wouldn't have made this trade either. But truthfully, part of doing a sucessful trade is that both parties are happy with the outcome...just because some of us wouldn't be happy with this particular trade doesn't mean that you shouldn't be.

Hi
I am not familiar much with either of those pins terms of tradability.

If you go by purely a financial standard of the current market based on Ebay (unfortunately the only one we have readily at our disposal) the WET PAINT is selling for around $190 on average, and the Chip n Dale around $100 on average.

If you go by the Pinpics wants/trading factor, they are not too far off of each other with Wet Paint at 17/449 and Chip n Dale 21/362.

Then of course the Edition size......1000 vs 750.

without the Ebay factor I think it was a good trade, and being that you REALLY wanted the Chip n Dale that makes it more desirable.

I wouldn't have the made the trade. I would have wanted something more along the C n D for the Wet Paint. Or I would have sold the Wet Paint on Ebay , bought the C n D and then used the extra $100 or so, for other pins I wanted.

I don't mean to come across as sounding harsh or critical. I just got the impression from your second post on this thread that you wanted my REAL thoughts on the matter.

It is usually not my way to comment on a trade already completed, because regardless of the Ebay and Pinpics factor, it truely does matter that you were happy with the trade. The real valuable of a pin is in the eye of the beholder.

I believe that if you got something you really wanted that is the most important thing.

I have traded two 750 LE cruise pins for one 1000 LE just because I really, really, really wanted it.

I just saw a brand new Chip and Dale LE pin being released on April 1 - I will be there on April 3 - if there are any left anywhere I would be more then happy to pick it up for you.

It is limited to 1000 - not sure what my chances might be of getting it but perhaps I could trade for it for you.

Let me know if you want me to try and get it.

Darlene

You had two Wet Paint pins, you still have one, plus a C&D you really wanted. Stop second guessing yourself. You made a good trade. This is supposed to be about having fun, not stressing out!

I personally would have made the trade. I like the Chip and Dale MUCH more than I like Wet Paint. The desirability of WP has eluded me. Then again I have no interest in Mickey for President or Inauguration Day. To each their own. I know the DCL AC pins are very sought after. Particularly the first 3. Knowing this and knowing the trade #'s from Pin Pics, which is what I base most of my trades on, I would call it fair.

IMO the most important thing is you got a good pin you really wanted and you traded away an extra of something you did not want.

I think I would of done the same thing.. I happen to love that Chip and Dale pin that opens to goofy just want to make sure we got the same thought...

That Chip and Dale pins happens to be my favoriate and I'm dying to trade for one... and the wet paint is soo soo.. not too crazy for that pin.. although there are alot of people out there that would love that pin...

I agree you made a good trade.. and that you are happy...

know anyone that is trading one I don't have wet paint!!

Cathy

Thank all of you very much for all your feedback on this topic. It has been very enlightening. I will be very glad to put it away, however!
