Is this a cute idea or tacky?

I love this idea of having the bridesmaids walk down the aisle to "Kiss the Girl"... but every time I tell this idea to someone, they look at me like I'm nuts. My bridesmaids have told me they think if I did this, they would walk down the aisle laughing or wouldn't be able to support the idea. Is it really that tacky? Also, I sort of like the Ashley Tisdale version of the song because it's fun and summery, as opposed to the Little Mermaid version, but... I like both.

its not tacky at all, if you love the song go for it, that wasn't very nice of your BMs to say that.

All the songs in our wedding were instrumentals of Disney songs. I remember very little about the music, but several of our guests commented on how beautiful it all sounded.

We were at the wedding pavilion and the organist played Kiss the Girls when my bridesmaids went down the aisle. It was not tacky at all. It sounded great. I do agree with the others to play an instrumental version rather than a version with lyrics.

I don't have a wedding party, but DF wants me to walk down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast. I'm not a fan of the idea, but I think it's sweet. I don't think it's silly... You're getting married at Disney, for goodness sakes!

Btw.. Recessional is going to be Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ;)

I walked down the aisle to beauty and the beast (instrumental version) and my bridal party walked down to the instrumental version of something there also from beauty and the beast.

That's why I didn't involve my bridesmaids in the decision making process. ;) Everything was up to DH and me. They just showed up.

As an aside, my 'maids walked to Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty and not one soul said a bad word about it.

I love the idea of using kiss the girls :). Do what you want, not what other people like. I would go with the instrumental version though.

I think it's a wonderful idea---especially in instrumental version. Enjoy your day the way you want to :goodvibes

I walked in to Beauty and the Beast, my sister walked in to A Whole New World, we recessed to Can You Feel The Love Tonight and our first dance was to Kiss The Girl... I think it would be great to have your BMs walk in to Kiss The Girl

You should do what you guys want to do! I'm planning our music at the moment ready for October & I'm not letting anyone talk me out of it ;-)

Kiss the girl is one of my favourites! We're going to have it as one of ours during our cake cutting :-)

I am having the violinist play all Disney Songs - It IS a Disney wedding after all. I don't care what anyone thinks.

Here's my 3 songs I've requested

A whole new world Aladdin
When you wish upon a star Pinocchio
Main Street Electrical Parade Theme :)

Happylaughingcow - Are you getting married the day after me? I just noticed your ticker?

Iam the 30th Sept

I didn't get married IN Disney but we did Disneymoon :) At our wedding we walked down the aisle after being announced as husband and wife to Kiss The Girl, cut our cake to A Whole New World, and my husband and his mom danced to Beauty & the Beast because it was a song he played for her on the piano at a recital when he was a little boy....somehow we never realized that our wedding music was so Disney themed until people kept asking...."Is all this Disney music because you are going there on your Honeymoon?" Instrumental Kiss The Girl is definitely the way to go! We had a steel drummer as our ceremony musician and it was so perfect!

I think it's your wedding, and you are the one who is going to look back and be happy with the idea! I think it would be FANTASTIC! I love when people do different things that are disney oriented. It's so cute! :)
