We are looking for a travel trailer to pull. It cannot exceed much more than 7000lbs. With that weight it will allow us another 1000lbs for extras. We will not be filling it with water...just hooking it up at the campsite.

Options we would like to have..slides!! Quad bunk room with a slide or two, U-shaped dinette, and a kitchen island would be fantastic options. 35K or so is our budget.

Is this possible, or is there not anything light enough? Thanks so much!

I just quickly looked at the Jayco site, they have one at 5800. I'd sat it's doable.

Our friends just bought an Outback 301BQ - just what you are describing and the website says 7226 lbs. No idea what the price is, but that basically says that yes, you should be able to find something.

There should be plenty choices. I own a Keystone Bullet 294BHS. Its a 29 foot bumper pull. It tows great and doesn't weigh too much. Shipping Weight
5,635 lbs
Carrying Capacity
1,890 lbs

Yes, it's very doable. We own a KZ Spree 323 RLS. While it does not have the bunk slide it does have a super slide. It weighs just over 5500 pounds light. Google that trailer and you can pull up the specs and floor plans.

Not that I'm an expert, but is that 8,000 lbs. Your max tow weight. I have always read you should never go above 75% of that weight. Also there are issues of Gross Vehicle weight.

Though it does look like there are trailers lighter than your 7,000 lb limit.

I'm looking to go super light like no more than 1,000 lbs and build a tear drop.

Thanks for all of the responses! That really helped! Now to just figure out which one we want :confused3
