Is there such a thing as too much Poly?

Hey all! :hippie: I have a month left and (of course) I am second guessing my ADR's. Here's the issue...we have friends heading down at the same time and we have a few places booked with them. One is SOA @ the Poly...we have never done a dinner show so we figured this may be fun..especially with a big group:thumbsup2 but I also have Kona Cafe and O'hana's booked! We missed O'hana's last time out and Kona sounds so good! Should we maybe drop one...are they all sort of similar? (p.s these are all dinner ressies) TIA :wizard:

They are all great! Keep them all if you can! I loved Ohana and Kona. SOA was awesome but it was sooo HOT when we went. I say never too much Poly! I am a fan of all 3!

I say NEVER too much Poly! But me and my family love the Polynesian. Its the only place we stay. Kona is great so is Ohana. The resort is beautiful if you want to take a nice relaxing stroll around before or after dinner.
SOA gets a lot of negative reviews. But I ignored them and wanted to form my own opinion so I booked it. It was great! The food is good and plentiful. I was scared of the heat, but they have heavy duty fans going and it was quite comfortable. I say go and try them all. Good Luck!:)

I won't say that I think you should or should not cancel any one of them, I will only say there's a lot of other stuff out there, even at other places on the monorail line.

Love all 3 places!! We have only been lucky enough to stay at the poly once, but loved it! We stay moderate now but end up at the poly more than once every trip. I wouldn't hesitate to do Kona, ohana & SOA all in one trip!

I did both as dinner ressies and was sort of "blah" about kona after going on ohana a few nights before.

My honest opinion? Give Kona a try for breakfast. THAT is something that is not to be missed. The atmosphere is perfect, and the menu is SUPERB!:thumbsup2

If nothing else, be sure to do Kona FIRST. Otherwise you will be disappointed when you hit it up AFTER the AMAZING OHANA!

All of these are quite different.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the new Luau show. It's more "high school musical" than the original Luau show. While engaging for the younger set, it is just grating to those of us who are older than tweens. The food is merely ok.

'Ohana is more of a Brazilian steak house with a polynesian twist. There's a reason reservations are hard to get, and that's because it's a great value with good food.

Kona is the hidden gem here. Go for breakfast. It's fantastic! Lunch and dinner are good as well, but nothing to seriously write home about. The pot stickers are the same ones from 'Ohana, and make sure you try to the banana chocolate creme brulee.

Polly May be a bit expensive for us to stay at the resort but we always drive over to eat the the 3 places you have mentioned plus we also head to Captain Cooks for Tonga Toast for breakfast or lunch for a great sandwich and a dole whip for desert.
SOA is ok, but I may opt for the HDDR (just my opinion) but if you never have done SOA you have to go.
As for Kona the better quality food and quiet, and O'Hanna lots of food (meat)and some entertainment, more of a party atmosphere.
Have fun keep them all
