Last night a crazy kid ran us off the road from his erratic and careless driving he continued on to do it to 2 others..we followed him into town and saw that he was not going to the ER (which would have been his only saving grace) I got his license number and would love to report him, but don't know if I have any authority to do this......

anyone ever called the cops just to have someone harrassed and hopefully scared out of their behaviors?

You can report it, although the prime time to report it would have been last night, while the guy was on the road.

But they will likely check the plate for priors. You should report it, since the driver may have a revoked license for DUI, or the car could be stolen, both of which would also explain the wacky driving.

You can report it, but it would be a big waste of time now. The time to do it is while the erratic driving is taking place. In order for a police officer to do anything in this situation it has to take place IN the OFFICER'S presence. Also even with reporting it there is no guarantee anything will be done. All the area officers could be on other calls. It's frustrating I know. Also, program the regular number for the police department in your phone to use for times like these, it's best not to call 911 and tie up those lines.

My DBF and I last night just had to call the police. We were in bed and awakened by drunk neighbor and friends who were falling down the stairs and vomiting all over the place. They were definitely drunk and a fight broke out in the parking lot and 3 people jumped in their cars and took off after each other. We got the license plate # and vehicle so hopefully an officer got to them.

The police in my town encourages us to call 911 immediately for any road rage incidents we are involved in or witness. It certainly is a scary situation! Princess lovers mom - I would go ahead and report it - better late than never. Good luck - I hope the police at least go to the kid's house and let the parents know he was reported.

And what can the police do? At this point it is one person's word against the others. No officer saw the erratic driving.
