Is there such a thing as a Disney transportation map?

Is there a map available that shows Disney's transportation system and the times it is running? Is the whole system running late at night?

There is no current Disney transportation map. There is some form of transportation between every resort and every park and DTD. There is transportation from park to park (transport between other parks and the MK involves a transfer at the TTC). There is not any transport between the parks and DTD. And, with limited exceptions, there is not transport from resort to resort.

Transportation from most resorts to the parks will start around 6:30 a.m. with early bus service for morning ADRs. Transportation runs more frequently after the parks are open. Transport from the parks back to the resorts will run until at least an hour after park closing (including hard ticket events and EMH) but essentially until all guests are gone. DTD transportation runs later in most cases.

When I checked in they gave me a transportation guide. It is really nice and indicates how to get to each park/resort from where you are. It will tell you if you have to transfer etc. I found it very useful. Ask for it when you check in if they dont have it in your packet.

I got a fabulous map the first time I stayed in 2000. It had the entire map with colors for each type of transportation and a grid-like listing on the back.

I have copied it a million times for people and it is getting rather worn.

Now they give you a guide, that is not quite as extensive, but still pretty good.

Just to expand (or expound) a bit on Jestocost's response:

DTD buses run until 2 a.m., so if you are travelling between resorts after all parks have closed for the night, you need to transfer at DTD.

Although buses from the parks run until all guests have cleared the park, if you are travelling to a park from a resort (like to transfer to another resort), you must be on the bus to the park before park closing time (including EMH or events like MVMCP).

searching high and low for that disney transportation guide scanned in somewhere. someone must have it, no? yet it remains elusive. I've found some good web sites. but a map (i.e. where ARE the boats in mk, epcot, hs, boardwalk) and how long does a bus vs. boat take etc etc. would be amazing! happy new year all!

See here:

Pick Transportation/Walking Paths from the Category menu - it will show you the boat docks in the Epcot area, walking paths between Epcot/DHS and those resorts, between MK & the Contemporary, etc.

Buses are pretty self-explanatory - there are bus stops @ all the resorts and all the parks.

The ourlaughingplace link above is inaccurate and I don't recommend it anymore. I can't speak to the other link because I have never looked at that.

Update - that mouseplanet is out of date by a lot - refers to Hollywood Studios as MGM (that changed ~3 years ago), WL to MK shows boat but does NOT show the bus option, and (just noticed this) - LOL - it refers to the Disney Institute. DI is now SSR since ?2004?. Definitely don't use that chart. And I hardly checked any of it.

ha ha - it gets better - gives transportation to River Country!! Closed in 1999.:rotfl:

Yes, there are official WDW transportation maps showing bus routes, stops, and so much more, but you can't get them. Neener, neener, neener!!
I know, that's cruel, but I couldn't resist.

Those maps are all courtesy of Robo here on the DISboards - check the other choices there on the Stitch Kingdom site - I think there were other ones showing DTD, but I'm not sure.

I'm not really up on the boat routes around DTD other than I've gone SSR to DTD by boat.

There are several different boats at DTD; one goes to POR and POFQ; one goes over to SSR, but you have to pick it up at a different dock, as well as one over to OKW. So you can take the POR boat over which drops you off around the base of RFC; then transfer over to the Pleasure Island/Market Place boat and then transfer a boat for either SSR or OKW.

It is a great way to kill an afternoon.
