Is there still Rider Switch? & face masks for almost 2 year old.

I’m debating a trip to Disney this summer. We will have a 5 year old and a 23 month old. Two questions:

1. Is Disney still doing Rider Switch for rides with a height requirement? How does it work now? Are they still using the fastpass lines? Are the fastpass lines even manned?

2. I see that face masks are required for those ages 2 & up. I’d like to try to get my 23 month old to wear a face mask but I doubt she’ll let it stay on her face for more than a minute before pulling it off. What does Disney do with almost 2 year olds who might look like they’re two? (My little one is pretty tall for her age). Will I need to carry around her birth certificate with me, or does it not seem to be a big deal with children at that age and enforcement? Again, I’d love to get her to wear a mask, but I somehow doubt there is any chance a mask would stay on her face for more than a minute.

Thanks in advance.

just do not teach her that she is 2 until you head home. ie not sure what would happen if she answered 2 when you are asked her age. I do know with older kids CMs do take what the child says and some do ask child not the adults. that is assuming she will be 23 months for your trip not 23 months now. enforcement is to ask you to replace mask on child's face if 2. from what has been said rider swap and DAS use FP line.

She would be 23 months when we went. She doesn’t really speak yet beyond a few words right now, certainly not enough to answer how old she is. I have no idea how verbal she’ll be by this summer.

then just do not let anyone start trying to teach her to say 2. based on years of daycare with one year olds bet she is talking a lot by then from what she is now. you can count on them saying the wrong thing at the worse timing. been there and done that

I wouldn't worry about it. We took our 23 month old back in September and we couldn't get him to wear a mask either. Maybe once a day a CM would ask us how old he was and we would just tell them, "just under 2" or "23 months" and they were completely fine with it. Never had any problems.

They will likely ask and you will say 1 (I would probably say 2 next month) and if they dont believe you then they will just sigh and walk away. That's it. LOL

Really. No one is going to ask for a BC or anything. There are plenty of CMs that are the 'mask police' because that's what they have been told to do and are being pressured to do. Just take all in stride and know you are all good and within the rules.

1. Rider swap works the same as before. The FP lines are still there, they are just limited to DAS, Rider Switch, VIP, guest recovery, etc.

2. Just be honest. "She's not 2 yet, but we are starting to practice wearing a mask for next month". You probably will get more questions because if there is a mask present they might assume she is already 2, but there is nothing wrong with starting to practice early.

Enforcing mask rules is the CMs job, so they may ask, especially when you are approaching the temp check. We've been asked twice my son's age, both times I responded and they didn't ask for any proof. He is only 1 but he is tall. Carrying a copy of the birth certificate in your bag couldn't hurt. I figure better to be safe than sorry. Also, they might also ask their age at the tapstiles to see if they need a ticket.

Yes, there's still rider swap. We used it at Rise of the Resistance. We checked in at the front of the regular line, then I got sent to another CM to scan my magic band. When it was my time to go on the ride, I returned to that entrance and went through the "FP" line.
