Is there Something Wrong with me???

Your not crazy, God just made some of us special :rotfl2: My extended family think I'm nuts too. Heck, my Dsis (28) has never been to the world and I offered to take her at MY expense and she said "NO" :confused3 What's WRONG with these folks? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have five sisters but am always looking for another one (especially one who would take me to WDW). :rolleyes1

Thanks to all for your support and encouragement! Update on my very unmerry family. I thought it would be fun to make a Disney fun basket for my Dsis's birthday. I got a Mickey plush, disney watch, misc. items and a mickey travel mug in which I put $75.00 in disney dollars. I was so very proud of my creativity! My sister wasn't that excited and just rolled her eyes.

Next time maybe I can go with my DIS family instead of my real family! :rotfl:

Hi..I'm another who talks all Disney & friends/some family are sick of hearing about it. But, we are in the process of finishing our basement (also putting in a bathroom down there) & my DH is ok with it being a total Disney room...everything in it is coming from the Disney catalog & I'm adding to it (framed prints, our scrapbooks from our trips, everything!).

I haven't told anyone outside the family about it yet...this will only add to their fears that I'm totally over the edge.

Well, I did mention our decorating plans to one girl I saw at the gym who was looking at a Disney catalog. She then responded that she, too, is creating a Disney room. :earsboy:

It's just to bad that none of my nearby friends are huge Disney fans like all of us.

Did you see the Mickey head bedding in the new catalog? Gorgeous! My dd10 loves it and it is so nice that I think if I redid her room with it that she would be proud of it for several years. Every year when we go we stop in the store at MGM where they have a CM drawing the characters in various stages in black & white. We have Mickey and Minney. I think those would be perfect with the bedding. See now I am planning a Disney room too - this may send my family over the edge! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Way you think fellow Hoosier,I'm a Disney nut to.Have a great trip and loads of fun and please say hi to the Big Cheese (Mickey) for me. :goodvibes  :cheer2: :cool1:

Hey there Danny1649 - I will give Mickey your greetings. I am assuming that you are an IU fan! Me, a Purdue grad, but I have a secondary degree from IU too. Good to hear from a fellow hoosier.

Obviously there are too many off us Disney lovers to be titled as freaks, if you ask me the anti-Disney lovers are the true "freaks" IMHO. :rotfl: Some members of my family think I am crazy too but I know, how can I be crazy for enjoying a truly "magical" place. Being a Dis Boards fan is highly sophisticated and freak-free LOL and a pre-magical place to fill your excitement because we all know how exciting it gets once you have planned your vacation. I also noticed that you listen to Live365. That station has become my "dose of medicine" lol. Just before our last trip to Disney this past summer, every morning at 9:00 a.m. we would listen to the live rope drop music. I was sadened to hear after we returned however, that they don't play it anymore :sad:The station is still there but they don't play the rope drop music. I guess they knew we needed to hear it before we left LOL. :rotfl: ANYWAY... to make a long story short (I think we have crossed over that bridge already though  ) NO ONE under any circumstances is a freak for loving what they enjoy. Everyone has their own opinion. Ours just happens to involve happy memories, enjoyable moments and a magical life everlasting. :earboy2:

I assure you that there is nothing wrong with you or the rest of us. It's the others who don't understand our healthy obsesssion with Disney.

My family is the same they think I'm nuts when it comes to planning. I have matching shirts for our first day in the park.....since there are 7 of us going we are all going to be the seven Dwarfs and for Mickey's B-day on 11/18 I am making Happy Birthday Mickey shirts.

My family has no other choice but to where them or I WILL make their lives miserable.

Me-40 years old, had never been to WDW until last August. The craziest thing was that I never wanted to. DH and I started talking that it would be a nice family trip as our oldest DD was getting close to high school graduation, etc... It took me about 3 days of research and planning and I was TOTALLY addicted! They can call me crazy...I don't mind! We had a fabulous time, and I am, of course, planning all the details of our next trip as we speak.

OP, about your "unmerry family"; after all my excited planning of our first trip, I was afraid that actually getting there would be somewhat anti-climactic for the family, especially for DH. I was sooo wrong...he is now as in love with WDW as I am, and we're planning a DVC purchase. Shhhh secret--he'd kill me for telling--on our first night there, we went to the Boardwalk Resort for a little taste of the magic (as planned ;) ), when we first set foot on the Boardwalk, he paused to wipe a tear from his eye, he was so overwhelmed by the magic!

Your so lucky...wish I had a husband like that...the last 2 times we went to WDW he didn't come ...he just can't see the magic of it all ..... e.g.-When DD9 and I came back this August ,I had snapped a few beautiful pictures of a "rainbow" in the sky in MK near the castle and I showed them to him with excitement !!! I had a few tears in my eyes that nite while taking pictures of it and then his response to the photos were "we get rainbows up here after a rainfall all the time, what's the big deal"...some people just don't get the Magic princess:

No I haven't seen it yet & I'm wondering how I could not have. Thanks I'll have to check it out immediately. :earsboy:

I feel so lucky that my whole immediate family (my mother, father and sister) are into Disney all the same. We simply can't get enough of it. My dad has bought so many Disney clothes (yes my DAD) clothes like golfing Mickey and Tropical Mickey and sorts like that. A funny time once: My dad took me to Six Flags (no where near as good as Disney but I still had a blast) and a Friend of his came as well. The guy said "your daughters must love Disney" (just a paraphrase) My dad replied "yeah, they never get sick of it. I could stay home next time myself (paraphrase)." (well, it might have been a good cover up story to hide his feelings about Disney, but him wearing A mickey shirt, Mickey shorts, Mickey socks and a Mickey hat did not help the matter lol)

My mom on the other hand went online and looked up and printed out every single menu there is in Walt Disney World. (yes, absolutly every menu for every restaurant in WDW) she brought them home and we all looked them over deciding "where should we eat on the third night; the first night; the fourth night; etc.?"

I was happy to have discovered the awesome online radio station (Live365) and like I said above, we would listen to the rope drop every morning. I was in charge of getting that up and going. Also, we all kept a running count down in our kitchen on a chalk board. (We made it all creative and had a blast doing it. We would make the numbers fit into a large Mickey head. EX: the #1 would strech across the side of the head, the #3 followed the curve of the ear and side of head.) It was fun deciding how to do it.

Some people call us crazy (like some of my relatives) but I call it dedication.
