Is there someplace to get a quick breakfast at OKW?

I'm leaving for our vacation in 3 days!! I'm staying at OKW for the first time and wondering is there somewhere that we can grab a cup of coffe and a bagel or muffin - a quick bite to eat before heading to the parks? I know that you can get served breakfast at Olivia's but I'm not sure we want to have a big breakfast in a sit down restaraunt.

Thanks,
Jen

Hi!
Yes, you can get a quick bite at Good's Food-to-Go on the boardwalk, just past Olivia's Restaurant. Enjoy your stay -- I know you will!

You could also pick up some bagels, cream cheese, donuts, etc. in the gift shop and keep them in your room. The studios have a refrigerator , microwave and coffee maker and the bigger rooms have a full kitchen. One of my favorite advantages of being at OKW is being able to heat up a bagel in the microwave and have some coffee on the porch before the whole family is awake.

DH and I were talking the other day about Good's Food-to-Go and we were wishing that the eating area was enclosed and air conditioned.

This would provide a quick, comfortable eating place, especially when staying in a studio. An area like Roaring Forks at VWL would be nice. Anyone else like the idea?

SueM -- I was going to be cute and give "in your kitchen" as an answer! ;) Seriously, I find having breakfast items in the room, even in the studio, is just terrific. Goods to Go is the other option...but I usually bring it back to the room.

Yes, RumpleMum - that's just what we think is 'missing' from OKW!

It's such a great resort, but if your room is a long way from Goods, it would be so much nicer to have somewhere with a/c attached to Goods rather than going all the way back to your room or melting at the outside tables.

We buy from the store and then eat in the studio rather than going to Goods, but that's not going to be so practical if our room is on the other side of the resort.

I'm glad that others enjoys "quiet coffee on the porch". I am the only one in my family to do that & I never see anyone else on their porch, at OKW, while I'm out there. We have all our breakfasts "at home". We've done everything from muffins-bagels-fruit from Goodings to Entenman(sp) from the gift shop to bringing baked goods back, the night before, from DD/BWV/Epcot. I think expanded breakfast options is one of the best features of DVC.

We typically bring a couple of boxes of cereal with us and get milk at the gift shop. The kids can get up and fix their breakfast while my DW and are taking a morning walk and getting ready for the day. We also do bagels, pop-tarts, fruit etc.

If you're there in May, look for us on the porch around 8am :) We do all our breakfasts on the porch. It's a great, relaxing way to start the day. Actually, we did miss one day once... the day Hurricane Floyd hit OKW. Since we had to bring the patio furniture into the room, we sat at it and ate inside ;)

We've never been to Roaring Forks, but we'll have to try that when we're at VWL the end of May.
