We went to the world last October and I rented a 3 wheeled scooter from Apple which made my trip a whole lot easier because I had a virtually collapsed right knee at the time. I've since had a total knee replacement and am planning our next trip to the world in August. While I'm currently done with my PT and almost back to "normal" for everyday walking, I find that excessive activity is causing tremendous amounts of pain in my leg because the muscles are still just not ready for it. My total knee was only 5 months ago. I also still need to get my other knee replaced. So I'm come to the conclusion that rather than risk overdoing it during our August trip, I'm better off being safe than sorry and renting an ECV again (I tend to park and walk, then drive/park, and walk... so I don't overdo it and stay on it by the end of the day when my legs have had it).
Last time I rented the "go-go elite" 3 wheel, but this time I'm considering the Pride Victory 3 wheel - which goes a bit faster, has a longer battery life (25 miles vs. 15), and has a captains chair (higher back) and someplace I can rest my leg if I stretch it out (which the other one didn't have).
Does anyone have experience with the Pride Victory? I'm worried about the larger turning radius. While I know it's only 10", I was able to really maneuver in the Go-Go Elite. I don't know if the Pride Victory is significantly larger or "clunky".
I'm looking for thoughts on those who may have rented this option and how you felt it handled. Any good vs. bad experiences / recommendations?
