Is there hope for a FOP fast pass?

We are headed to the world next weekend 8/11-8/13. We didn’t snag a fp at 60 days out because our trip was so short. So I have been looking to pick one up since. There are only two of us. I know I can potentially grab one on the same day during same day drops. But is there hope of getting one in the next week or so? Are there any times or strategies that might improve my chances? I’m really trying to avoid the 3 hour wait!

We were there last month, visited AK twice.. we did manage to get a FP for FOP for one of those days but that was just about 60 days out.. the other day we never were able to secure one.. so we rope dropped that day and went straight to FOP... if all else fails, rope drop is a savior.. at least for us.

Sadly it’s our first day and we will he arriving at MCO at 10 am and checking in and heading to AK. So rope drop won’t be an option for us. This is what we get for planning a last minute weekend trip!

There really is no strategy to getting it, just refreshing. The more you look, the better your chances, but in general you will have the most luck night before and day of.

Sadly it’s our first day and we will he arriving at MCO at 10 am and checking in and heading to AK. So rope drop won’t be an option for us. This is what we get for planning a last minute weekend trip!

Get in line right at park close - many people have reported having just as much luck, if not better, by doing that instead of RD. Keep checking the app that day while you're there. You never know. Good luck!

DH and I have always been able to get a FP+ for FoP on the day we were at AK, or sometimes the night before. Best advice is to just keep checking as often as you can before you get there, and refresh diligently when you do get there. One tip - if a time does show that you don't particularly want, take it anyway. Somehow it's easier to modify a FP+ that you already have than to try to keep looking for a new one .

I booked my trip only about 3 weeks out so no FOP FP. I did lots of refreshing leading up to the trip, day before, day of, during drop times, etc. No luck.

I did rope drop it and walked right on. I also got in line after the first ROL. Posted wait was 120 and I was on in 45 minutes.

My back up plan was to buy AK AH tickets but I ended up not needing to do that.

If you don't succeed at getting a FP the night before or morning of, I would try getting in line just a few min before the park closes. We've done that on a 9pm park close night and waited about 30 min until we got into the interactive part of the ride which technically is still waiting but less boring of a wait. So maybe 40-45 min all in which IMO is a good wait time for that ride.

There's no way to predict when to try, just keep checking. It's not unheard of for them to pop up but you have to be on the system when it happens. They go fast.

The posted wait often isn't as long as it takes. Anything around an hour is a good wait for FOP. I've gotten in line when the sign said 90 minutes and was out within an hour. Check the wait time in the late afternoon (2-4) and around closing time.

I turned up one finally a couple of weeks ago for this Sunday. It's later than I'd like, but I can find something to do for awhile. and if I can't, I'll drop it for somebody.

I picked up 4 at 1:40 for same day at 3:40 on Sunday after using my first 2 in HS. I was actually just trying for Dinosaur!

I've had luck at 6AM-ish on the day of once and two other times I was able to grab late afternoon times, and they were for times about an hour to two hours out from the time I was checking. We've also ridden at night before park close with about a 40 minute wait.

If all else fails, you’ll find the shortest waits just before closing time. On our most recent visit, the actual wait near the end of the evening was 17 minutes. The posted wait was 110.
